Construction & Furniture Llc

The same two names sit in more than half the reviews of Construction & Furniture: Serhii and Alex. They are the pair who turn up to replace the rotting trim around a garage door, rebuild gable vents, or repair the glass and frame of a 20-plus-year-old Anderson casement window so it matches the rest of them. The Ashland company's own site says it is run by Alex, with hands-on construction experience since 2010, covering exterior and interior work — roofing, siding, windows, doors, decking — plus custom furniture and handyman jobs. Most of what customers describe is the fix-and-finish work an older house needs. In 2026 reviews: trim and sills on multiple south-facing windows, a fire-rated door and a railing for basement stairs, siding and moldings replaced around several windows to match the existing look, a basement window swapped out and a dryer vented through the frame of the house. One homeowner called about water leaking around the windows; the inspection pointed at the roof as the cause, and the team explained it and took care of the moldings and some minor repairs. There is a fabrication side as well. A 2026 reviewer had a custom kitchen wall unit designed and built from scratch, planning through installation; a returning customer had an office door fabricated and installed. In another 2026 review, a homeowner wrote that the deck Alex's team restored a few years earlier — stairs rebuilt, framing restored, the whole surface refinished — still looks good, and a Thumbtack customer said windows Serhii serviced roughly two years ago have given no trouble since. The money side reads steady in these accounts: clear invoices and fair prices, and a 2025 Thumbtack customer who was not charged for the stain and sealant the crew already had on hand. Set against that, one Google review from June 2026 is a single star — that customer says they had a bad experience and would not recommend the company. The Thumbtack page is a Top Pro listing at 5.0 from 90 ratings with 45 project photos; Google sits at 4.8 from 19. The state registry lists home improvement contractor registration 217591 in the company's name. For window, door, trim and deck work around Ashland — or a built-in you would rather have made than bought — this is the small team those homeowners kept calling back. Ask for the written estimate and the itemized invoice reviewers describe, and if your window repair needs parts, pin down the wait: one 2026 customer was told the return visit would come once the parts arrived.
