It started as a painting company and still does that work — interior and exterior painting, ceilings, cabinet refinishing, wallpaper removal, pressure washing — but the reviews show a business that now takes on whole rooms. Basements come up repeatedly: a September 2022 customer had one finished for $35,000 and praised the quality, communication and price; an October 2025 customer had another remodelled and singled out the consistent updates and a workspace kept clean; a July 2026 customer combined a basement renovation with a covered patio.
Decks and stairs are the other recurring specialism. A July 2026 customer — a retired construction manager — had all the decking on a large second-level deck replaced and the stair joists re-framed, plus the posts and balustrades painted, and wrote that after a whole career in construction management he was "forever grateful to have found Walter and the crew." A December 2025 homeowner of 30 years had interior painting plus a major rebuild of large exterior decks and stairs and called the craftsmanship and responsiveness unmatched.
Two things come up so often they are worth taking as the pattern. The first is sequencing: two separate powder-room customers, in January and February 2023, independently described the same thing — that Walter staged the work so something got done every day and the job finished on time. The second is repeat business. A May 2024 customer having their whole exterior painted noted it was their third big project with the company; a January 2022 reviewer had him renovate their own house, their mother's house and neighbours' homes.
On non-painting trades, a June 2026 bathroom-renovation customer wrote that "the plumber and electrician were competent and efficient," so those trades appear to be brought in rather than done in-house. If your job includes plumbing or electrical work, ask who holds those licences and get it in writing — that is standard practice, not a warning about this company.
The record is deep, current and uniformly good: 25 dated accounts from 2019 to 2026 across Google, Angi and BBB, with Google publishing 4.9 stars from 34 ratings, Angi 4.8 from 6, and exactly one four-star review in the entire set — a 2019 customer who still said the pricing was very fair. Worth noting the tenure figures disagree: BBB records the business as started 1/1/2006 and incorporated 8/29/2006 with 20 years in business, while the company's own site and Angi profile both say 1999 and 27 years.

We used Walter to renovate our basement and add a pack roofed patio. We couldn't be happier! Would definitely use him again!
Walter was such a pleasure to work wth from pricing the work to getting the work started and completed. The project was to replace all the decking on a very large second level deck and to re-frame the stair joists. Also included in the scope of work was painting the wood posts and balustrades around the deck and stairway. I just retired and was in a construction management role my whole career, I must say how fortunate I am to have had such a skilled carpenter and painters work on my home that I am forever grateful to have found Walter and the crew from Tores Construction & Painting!
Mr. Torres did a full bathroom renovation. I am very pleased with the work that was done. He has skilled help who were excellent with tile work and painting. The plumber and electrician were competent and efficient. Mr.Torres is very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
Torres construction and painting has done interior painting and major rebuilding of our large exterior decks and stairs.
