Corleone Concrete and Masonry is a Boston-area concrete and masonry outfit built around one name customers keep repeating: Sean, the crew lead they ask for job after job — driveways, patios, foundations, staircases, and brick repointing from the North End to Stoneham and Scituate. Most of the sixty-plus reviews on file describe the same thing: a crew that shows up on time, finishes fast, and leaves a clean job — a driveway poured and leveled in a day, a warehouse loading dock ramp repaired mid-heatwave, brick steps and a North End facade repointed to the owner's satisfaction. Customers who hired them for foundations and concrete pumping describe fair pricing and steady communication throughout. That said, a cluster of reviews from late 2025 into 2026 tells a different story. Customers report an unfinished driveway that cracked and settled unevenly, a $3,400 deposit for a canceled patio that took months to refund, and one customer who put down an $18,000 deposit toward a $55,000 foundation and staircase job and alleges the contractor never pulled the promised permits. The Better Business Bureau lists the business at an F grade with three complaints on file that the bureau says went unanswered, and the Massachusetts Attorney General's office is on record with a 2025 wage-and-hour violation against the business. Before booking, get a written contract spelling out the payment schedule and permits, and get a firm, verifiable answer on who is pulling any required permits. For a homeowner who wants a straightforward driveway, patio, or masonry repair and pins those terms down up front, most of the record points to solid, responsive work — but the recent complaint pattern is worth weighing against the deposit terms before signing.

You know what is not a fake review? This one! This company operates like a Station Wagon Charlie we hired Corleone concrete for project work paid up, substantial deposit upfront and we're left with unfinished car results and endless excuses. After taking our money. Communication completely broke down. Scheduled work days were missed without notice. Phone calls were ignored and promised refunds for uncompleted work never materialized a basic check of public records later revealed that This has happened to several other people Regarding nonpayment in unfulfilled contracts, save yourself distress, verify their license and credentials independently and hire a legitimate established contractor instead.
I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel obligated to tell others: DO NOT RECOMMEND. Extremely disappointing experience. I paid a $3,400 deposit for a concrete patio and canceled before any work was performed. Despite that, getting my money back turned into a months-long ordeal. Sean Douglas (aka Michael Corleone) Corleone Concrete repeatedly promised to issue my refund, including multiple specific promises to pay, but those promises were not honored. A refund check I received was returned for insufficient funds (bounced check), and I was left having to repeatedly follow up to recover money that should have been returned. Only partial repayment was eventually received, and $1,800 remains owed. After numerous attempts to resolve the matter directly, I ultimately reported the situation to police. The amount of time, frustration, and effort required to recover my own money was completely unacceptable. Based on my firsthand experience, I would not recommend Sean Douglas (aka Michael Corleone) Corleone Concrete to anyone. I strongly recommend thinking twice before doing business with Sean Douglas (aka Michael Corleone) Corleone Concrete or providing a substantial upfront deposit. Based on my experience, I would not do business with this contractor again.
