On its BBB page, Cota & Cota Heating Fuels says it offers bioblend heating oil, propane, kerosene, diesel fuel and gasoline to residents of Southern Vermont and Southwestern New Hampshire, along with plumbing and heating services. The company says it has been in business 85 years, and a 2026 manchesterjournal.com headline says its heating, cooling and plumbing business "will be turning 85". A recent customer said the company found they needed a new water heater and handled delivery, installation and removal of the old unit without upsells. A customer wrote that John, the plumber, was able to place and plumb a new hot water tank into their crawl space. A customer said Tyler was on time and got a new tank installed as agreed. A customer said they use the company for plumbing, heating and A/C. A 2026 customer said the company always delivered their heating fuel on time and responded well to urgencies. A 2026 customer said there was sufficient fuel during the polar vortexes and all deliveries were made; that 2026 customer also said the response to an oil burner failure was very quick and the motor of their 50-year-old unit was replaced. A 2026 customer said their oil burner failed while they were away, and after they called for emergency service a tech was at the house before the end of the day. Parts were lacking that day, that 2026 customer said, and the following day a tech arrived with the needed parts and completed the work. A 2026 customer of more than 20 years said two of the company's people had just diagnosed a tricky, intermittent sound from their burner. In 2025, a customer with a problem on an on-demand heater said a technician was at the house within an hour of calling. The same 2024 customer understood it to be unusual for the company to offer plumbing to people who are not oil customers. A 2023 customer had their heating system cleaned and serviced for its annual check-up and said the two who came were knowledgeable, clean and neat. A recent customer who signed a contract for oil said they were told someone would contact them to have "mini splints" installed, and that no one got back to them after they contacted the office several times. A 2026 customer said the plumber came to install two water tank floats, replaced one and left the second sitting on the tank, and the tank overflowed; that 2026 customer said they drove two hours the next day and installed it.
