I think anyone building a home or doing a remodel today requires. One thing and that is patience. The permitting and engineering procedures required for today’s standards are arduous and stringent. The days of cutting corners are gone. The carpenters of today are not your grandfathers or fathers for that matter. They are held to ever changing zoning, FEMA, building, conservation codes. It takes a lot of time and lot of red tape just to get to build. That was probably the most frustrating part of the project. Dan worked through it. Once work commenced, Dan and Company built me a beautiful home. It was designed well and engineered magnificently. He worked hard to make it perfect. I watched him once have a floor torn up that was just redone. I thought it was fine. However, It didn’t meet his standards. It wasn’t perfect. It had imperfections. He wouldn’t tolerate it and made them rip the entire thing up. If you want a high end build and custom detail. Hire DA King. He’s not the cheapest but he will work with you on alternatives and knows where to save money on projects. He also knows where to spend money. His insight and knowledge became invaluable as to where to add extras and upgrades to strengthen the build and capture the equity of the craftsmanship for years to come. In the end , Dan prevailed and more importantly delivered the quality and perfection he promised . What I like best is the fact after the build was complete and probably beyond any warranty period. He owns his craftsman ship. Will stop by to check on things and wants the call if something’s not perfect. That’s priceless peace of mind for the homeowner.
