D. Hohmann Handyman is a one-person outfit working out of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, handling the kind of jobs that don't fit a single trade neatly — patching drywall, replacing a chimney cap, checking out a shaky floor joist. On HomeAdvisor, where the business has built its whole history, every one of its 17 ratings has come back five stars. What keeps showing up is reliability more than any one skill. A 2025 review describes drywall repairs finished right on schedule; in 2024, a homeowner credited him with stepping in on short notice to fix a damaged chimney cap and said they wished they'd found him sooner. Two reviews from 2019 tell a similar story — one homeowner recalled him carefully checking a crawl space joist problem and deciding, honestly, that no work was actually needed, while another that year called him knowledgeable across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and tile work, and said he responds promptly and shows up on time. His written history here is thin by volume — five distinct reviews spanning 2019 through 2025 — but there's no negative account among them: no complaint, no dispute, nothing flagged. HomeAdvisor lists him as an accredited member with 13 projects shown on the platform. For someone who needs a generalist for a mixed punch list rather than a specialized trade crew, the pattern here — punctual, communicative, and willing to say when a repair isn't needed — is the case for calling him. Given how few reviews there are to go on, it's worth confirming current availability and pinning down the scope of the job before booking, since a spotless small sample doesn't say much about pricing or how he handles a bigger project.
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from D. Hohmann Handyman. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A day rate replaces the task list — usually the better deal once the list gets long.

He patched up the holes in my drywall and made it look awesome. He wrapped up the job right on schedule and is super punctual.
Went out of his way to help in urgent situation and replaced our chimney cap/cover on our townhome. Very pleasant to do business with and wished we had met him earlier for previous work. Will definitely hire again for future projects.
Quick, competent, thorough, good communicator. knowledgeable. He spent time in the crawl space, carefully looking at the joist problem, decided that it did not need treatment. He is my number 1 choice for future work. After he leftt, I concluded that it was like having a trusted friend do something for you. John Mooring
He can and is able to do everything - carpentry, plumbing, electrical, flooring, tile work, remodeling - everything you can ask for. He has great communication skills and responds promptly. Moreover, he is on time if he has agreed to. You can rely on David for almost any work.
David is an outstanding contractor who does outstanding work. He is knowledgeable in all the trades. He is always polite and professional with great communication skills. He truly listens to the home owner. The quality of the work is great. Dave is always on time, shows up when he says he will. I originally hired David to repair several projects that went bad with another contractor and he did amazing work. I had gotten other quotes in the area, and most were double his price and I know the work would be nowhere near the quality Dave does. He was able to find the right solution, always creative and results are very impressive. I strongly recommend as David is a True Professional.
