The accounts that stick with Daniel E. Cadotte Plumbing & Heating are the boiler ones. Writing in 2018, one customer laid out a decade of them: Cadotte had installed the boiler in their Warren Street condo in Medford before they bought the place, then turned up within the hour the first winter it shut off — the writer, a first-time homeowner, hadn't known the system needed water — and charged nothing, that time or on two later calls. The business is a one-person sole proprietorship working from a Medford PO Box, started in January 2004 and run by Daniel E. Cadotte himself. BBB grades it A+ while noting it isn't accredited there. Its reach runs well past Medford: Porch lists a 46-town Greater Boston service area, and BuildZoom's permit trail — 293 jobs, 23 of them in the last three years, typical permit value around $2,440 — puts the company in the top 1% of Massachusetts licensed contractors by that site's own score. Two things repeat across the written accounts. The first is speed: a 2005 customer had already been through two plumbers and three days with a 165,000 BTU heater on a frozen pipe before Cadotte cleared it in a little over an hour. The second is that the bill matches the quote. In a 2019 review a homeowner said Cadotte was the only one of three plumbers who called back, sent an estimate by email from photos of the problem, and then charged exactly that. Heating and hot water are the spine of the work — gas and oil boilers, hot-water and steam systems, furnaces, tankless and conventional water heaters, gas fitting — with everyday plumbing repair around it. A 2015 customer described being walked through tankless versus standard options before settling on one 75-gallon unit to replace two leaking 50s. The caveat is the calendar. Most of the written accounts are from 2004 and 2005; the newest on HomeAdvisor is January 2020, and the most recent anywhere is a short April 2025 note on BuildZoom — "Job well done. Arrived when expected… Price within today's standard range." The permits say the shop is busy now; the reviews mostly describe an earlier decade. One 2005 customer, satisfied with the job, still thought the charge ran a little high for how fast it was done. A sensible call for a boiler, a water heater or a plumbing emergency in the Medford–Malden–Boston corridor. Get the estimate in writing first — that's how customers say he works anyway — and confirm his current Massachusetts plumbing registration before the work starts.
Job well done. Arrived when expected. Work area cleaned up. Price within today's standard range. Would hire again.
Just wanted to inform you that Chris did a great job installing the new water heater, and also kindly checked out the couple of things that I had requested. He was polite and efficient, and tested out the system to ensure it worked properly. Thank you.
the gentleman who worked at several problems work quickly and informed us of every detail , his employer should be very very please to have a worker like Chris, if other employees are of same caliber there should'nt be any reason not to hire this company
Performed excellent work, and was able to do the same day as contacted, which is important for a hot water heater replacement.
1. Of the three plumbers contacted via Home A. , only Daniel Cadotte Plumbing reached out to me. 2. Daniel provided an estimate via email once I sent him pictures of the problem. 3. His employee Chris showed up on time, fixed the problem, cleaned up the space and charged me exactly what Daniel estimated. Would definitely recommend them and use them again.
