Danvers Pool LLC works out of 4 Dartmouth Street in Danvers and is a family operation: BuildZoom lists Dana Weymouth as owner with Paul J Weymouth as owner/manager, and homeowners across its review record simply call him PJ. The company's own Thumbtack profile says it was founded in 1986 and worked the North Shore until it relocated in 2010, returning to the area after twelve years away; the same page claims forty years in business, four employees, and a background check completed on Paul Weymouth in July 2022. Massachusetts registry records confirm a Home Improvement Contractor registration, #209475, held in the name Danvers Pool LLC and active when checked. What people hire them for is pool work of nearly every kind — cleaning and seasonal openings and closings, leak diagnosis, liner replacement, retiling and resurfacing, pump and filter repair, and full in-ground construction. A July 2025 reviewer walked through an entire vinyl liner replacement, from removing the old liner through measuring and installation, and praised a wrinkle-free fit; another that same month said the company diagnosed a pool leak, quoted the repair and finished it in two days after several other firms could not fit them in. The praise is consistent on speed: a 2023 homeowner got a last-minute clean within two days, another was served on Memorial Day weekend, and a 2023 reviewer who had been abandoned by a previous contractor said PJ's crew responded fast in the busiest part of the season. Several reviewers also credit work beyond the water — patio and stonework in April 2025, and a yard grading job that grew into a landscape design project. The thing to ask about before booking is what happens after the deposit clears. Three separate homeowners, writing in 2023, 2024 and 2025, describe the same pattern: a 2023 reviewer said pool tiles began popping off a month after refilling and that emails, voicemails and texts went unanswered; a 2024 reviewer said the problem was never resolved and calls and texts were not returned; a 2025 reviewer said a filter repair was booked and nobody showed. A separate 2025 reviewer who was happy with the finished pool and backyard redesign said the promised guidance for a first-time pool owner stopped once the six-figure job was paid for. This is a strong call for pool repair, liner and seasonal work, especially when you need someone quickly. Get the scope, the warranty on tile and liner work, and the follow-up terms in writing, and confirm registration #209475 directly with the state before you sign.
Horrible! Very irresponsible! He was supposed to fix our pool filter, but he never showed up and didn't answer our phone calls. Don't use his services!
PJ and his entire crew, including several family members, were outstanding from start to finish; removing the old liner, measuring for the new liner, installation of the new liner…They were meticulous, very neat, very professional paid attention to detail to ensure an excellent wrinkle-free fit of the new vinyl liner! I highly recommend Danvers Pool for any and all of the needs of pool owners! You will not be disappointed and glad that you engaged their service. We have been pool owners for 35 years and have never experienced such a high level of knowledge and professionalism!
These guys are top notch, friendly and professional. I had called around to a bunch of other places and none of them could fit me in the schedule. These guys got me cleaned up and diagnosed the leak in my pool. Quoted me the repairs and performed it in 2 days. Work is top quality and looks great! Always gonna recommend them and use them for my pool.
Besides performing diligent and competent pool maintenance and repairs, they are excellent at stonework and patios. PJ and his team are top shelf. No worries.
PJ was great to work with prior to and during the project. The patio work completed was well done, professional and site cleaned up well upon completion.
