Its own Thumbtack profile says the business was founded in 1986, operated on the North Shore until relocating in 2010, and has since returned; its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active. Most of the 25 reviews on file, spanning 2022 through 2025, describe fast, capable work. In a July 2025 review, one customer got a pool leak diagnosed and repaired within two days after other companies couldn't fit them in. A 2022 Thumbtack review describes a full pool retile and resurface finished ahead of a quoted two-week timeline. Reviews from 2022 and 2023 describe pump and filter problems fixed within a day of calling, including one case where PJ found a fix after other pool companies wouldn't return calls at all. A July 2025 review calls a full liner replacement meticulous and clean, and reviews from spring 2025 say the same about patio and stonework. The pattern worth knowing about shows up after the job wraps rather than during it. In an August 2025 review, a customer said Danvers Pool never showed up to fix a pool filter and stopped answering calls. In an April 2025 review, a customer who paid over six figures for a new in-ground pool said PJ stopped providing the follow-up guidance he'd promised once the money changed hands. In a July 2024 review, a customer said a problem was never resolved and calls and texts went unanswered. And in a 2023 review, a customer whose pool tiles were replaced said the tiles began popping off a month later and never got a response despite repeated attempts to reach the company. None of these describe the initial work as bad — the complaints are specifically about being unreachable when something needed a second look. Danvers Pool looks like a good option for pool openings, closings, repairs, and renovation work — the liner, retile, and patio jobs reviewers describe get praised for quality — but given the pattern above, it's worth getting any post-completion follow-up commitments in writing before the job wraps.
