Before the Job: I went through at least 3 painting companies before I went with Deven's Painting. David the owner of the company was VERY knowledgeable and explained in detail every aspect of the job. When I received the estimate it outlined all of the tasks in detail as well as the approach/process he recommended for the job. This estimate was much more comprehensive than the other estimates that I received and I felt I was getting great value/expertise for my hard earned cash. During the job: I had my house painting during a very hot a humid week. Instead of plowing through the job, David and his team took their time and cut out early when it became "too hot". The humid and hot weather makes the paint drag like cement, which effects the final product. That decision was a A+ in my book! This showed me that they cared about the job and the final product, instead of having a "just get it done" attitude. They even accommodated a new request that wasn't in the original estimate while the job was in full swing! On top of that they even installed a few storm windows and resealed them for me after the paint job was done!! The team was pleasant to speak with and kept very clean as well as neat job site. They brought me into the process when needed and kept me up-to-date at the end of everyday. After the job: As I said above they kept a VERY clean job site and made sure EVERYTHING was put back in place before leaving (they even hooked my hose back up for me). They did multiple "final passes" and spot check their own work. They made sure that I was happy with the FINAL product. Everything was very neat and well done. Overall, I am VERY pleased with Deven's painting. I would recommend them highly. It is very hard to find good contractors these days that have good customer service, value, expertise, be detail orientated and most of all be pleasant to work with. I am proud to say that Deven's Painting team are "my painters". Again I highly recommend them!

After a little pep talk about how important the lines were to us, Dave delivered an impeccable job throughout our entire 2,600+ square foot house.

Our condominium association of 27 units contracted Dave Devens to paint our front doors and sidelights after vetting a total of 5 contractors. His proposal was detailed and timely, the price was competitive and fair. He displayed an understanding of the needs of the association and a willingness to work with us as far as scheduling around other projects around the complex. We had to postpone the painting project for about 1 year after selecting Dave Devens Painting. He all the while maintained contact and was willing to come on site to give opinion on other things as well. Our doors, now freshly painted look wonderful! The sidelights sparkle. The project required much coordination between Dave, the individual unit owners as well as the condo Board of Trustee representatives (& of course the weather) over a 4 week period. Dave even met this writer at the hardware store & helped choose a new color when he found that the one that we had selected would require 4 coats to cover and thus double the price. He and his associates worked Saturday mornings on the project to accommodate the schedules of unit owners since doors needed to be open for painting as well as for several hours to dry. All have praised his & his crew's quiet, respectful & expert efficiency as well as their friendly personable manner. Since the project was completed 1 month ago there has been one minor complaint that he addressed immediately. I would recommend Dave Devens Painting to anyone who values a fine quality outcome as well as a constructive working relationship to which Dave brings his interest, knowledge & experience.

I hired David Devens Painting to paint the exterior of my parents' two-story colonial and garden shed, as well as to do interior work (painting walls and ceilings, staining new window trim). What can I say other than Dave and his crew are fantastic. Their prep of the exterior was extremely thorough, from power washing to extensive scraping, sanding, priming, and filling holes and gaps. They did a wonderful job painting the exterior of the house, shutters, and bulkhead. They also did a meticulous job on the inside work -- keeping everything clean and moving furniture with care. Not only do Dave and his team do great work, they are also very nice, polite people to deal with! Dave keeps you informed every step of the way about their schedule and plans. I'm ready to hire the team to paint my own house now! Excellent value for the money.

I have a 1700 sqft one-story ranch style home in Acton and was referred to Devens Painting from a co-worker. Dave came to my home and took his time giving me a very detailed and written estimate, answered all my questions and concerns in person, did a walk around with me making notes, and worked with my schedule for both completion and payment. His quote was quite reasonable compared with four other estimates and interviews I conducted. He was extremely professional, keeping in touch with me every evening by phone to make sure I had no questions and that everything was going as planned. His team at the time consisted of two men and a woman, all who arrived every morning on time, were respectful of my property and left my yard clean after they left and followed Dave's instructions. They were a joy to talk to and I was also pleased with their professionalism. I have found that the more specific you are with your requirements, the happier you will be with the results because you do not expect the contractor to read your mind. Dave is a very good listener, and the results were everything I expected and more! I highly recommend him and would hire him again.
