DD Plastering & Painting is a Waltham shop that works on walls and ceilings — plaster repair, drywall, and the painting that follows. Six years in, veteran owned, and the name that keeps coming up in reviews is Darvin Garcia. When it goes well, it goes fast. An April 2025 customer wrote that Darvin quoted a crumbling stairwell wall almost immediately, looked at the job the next day, and had a crew on it the day after that. A May 2025 homeowner had six room ceilings redone and said everything was cleaned up when the crew left. A 2024 customer described a fiddly plaster repair — awkward corners, adjoining plasterboard in poor shape — where new pieces were fitted and the site left tidy. The newest entry, from May 2026, is a ceiling primed and painted, with the customer pleased by the finish. The two low marks deserve a close read, because both are about the work itself. In July 2025 one customer gave a single star, writing that the walls came out neither smooth nor even, and that the crew damaged their front outdoor steps and an interior door. A second July 2025 customer, at three stars, said a screw went through newly installed wiring — the company reimbursed the repair — and that the owner who was on site spent most of the visit on the couch, minimally involved, and was not the person who had come out to quote the job. That is two of eight reviews describing defects, on a business whose entire written history sits on Angi alone. The one review since is positive and nothing has repeated those complaints, but eight is a small number to draw a line through. Worth a quote for plaster and drywall repair and the paint that goes with it, particularly if you need someone out quickly. Before work starts, walk the job with whoever will actually be supervising it — the 2025 complaints turn on who was on site and how the finish got checked.
