When Haverhill mounted an emergency response in late June 2026, DeFelice Corporation was one of the firms named: statehousenews.com reported on June 30, 2026 that the company was helping with construction and repairs, and boston.com reported the next day that city officials were working with it to complete the response. The Dracut company describes itself on its BBB page as a pipe and sewer reconstruction contractor, incorporated in Massachusetts in 1985, with George DeFelice as president. On Google it averages 1.6 stars across 13 ratings. In an April 2024 one-star review, a driver said a crew on a major Medford project disrupted rush-hour traffic after being told to keep the road partly open until 8:30. A June 2024 reviewer complained about workers swearing on job sites around children, and a July 2024 reviewer said two of their cars were blocked in and they had to call the police. In a July 2025 review, a driver described a company truck cutting in front of them near Drum Hill in Lowell; that reviewer said they had never used the company. A 2013 CBS News article reported that on November 3, 2010, DeFelice Corporation hit a gas line and a couple's house was destroyed. Its BBB grade is B-, and the BBB shows one complaint.

I have not used them for any work and because of this incident that happened today, I will never use them for anything. When you have someone who is driving a company truck that thinks that they are entitled to cut in front of you to go around you when you’re trying to make a left turn and this was in Drum Hill Lowell turning onto parkhurst rd. The first time trying to cut across VFW highway and seemed to expect me to let them in. I was watching and if you are representing a company you drive professionally and with courtesy. You do not bully other drivers on the road especially ones in small sedans. I do not appreciate it. I want people to know and this company to know what kind of people are representing them. They should not be allowed to operate vehicles driving they way this person did.
Blocked in two my cars would not move. Had to call police. Their reason was i was not leaving at the moment.

They are working on a major project in Medford and disrupting traffic during rush hour after being instructed to keep the road at least partially open until 8:30. I called the city to complain and he told me that the contractor ensured him that they had left one lane open. That's a boldface lie, grateful for my dashcam to prove my point to the city.
