Daniel is the name that comes up most in Definition's reviews, and several customers describe the same short visit: a few questions, an inspection, then the options with the cost of each before anything is touched. A May 2026 customer put it in four sentences — "Daniel was right on time. We discussed the options. He gave me a price. He did the work." The company works out of Taunton and says it covers Bristol County, Greater Boston and the South Coast, doing heating, cooling, indoor air quality and plumbing. It is young: a June 2026 reviewer said so plainly, while adding that Daniel has 16 years in the trade and is also a plumber. Its Google page averages 5 stars across 65 ratings. The jobs people describe run wide. Two mini-splits installed in early June 2026, with the install crew called neat and the tutorial on operating the units useful. Two AC condensers and air handlers put in by Ben and Andrew in May 2026, who let the owners know when they were arriving and walked them through the work. A hybrid hot water heater cleaned and repaired that same month; an outdoor spigot replaced and an interior shut-off valve added in April 2026; a boiler owner taken through routine maintenance and their city's code requirements in June 2026. In March 2026, a homeowner came home to 58 degrees and falling, and found a half-inch of water in the tray under the gas furnace from a deteriorated collector box seal. Pricing cuts both ways, and it is the thing to pin down. In May 2026 a customer had baseboard heating re-piped for $3000 less than two other companies had quoted earlier that week. In August 2026 another called the two technicians nice and professional but found the estimates too high even after the discounts offered, and paid the service fee without buying. Several of the reviews describe the visit rather than a finished job — a June 2026 writer who hadn't worked with them yet, another who didn't purchase the HVAC system but wanted to leave a review anyway. The other thing to raise directly: the state registry lists MA HVAC licence 15216-SM-A, holder of record Joshua E David, as expired. Its Better Business Bureau page carries an A grade and shows the company as accredited, and lists numbers including 15216-PL-M and PM-297218. A good call when you want a diagnosis you can follow and someone out quickly — a September 2026 customer spoke with Laura in the evening and had Daniel there the next morning. Before booking, ask what the service fee covers if you don't buy, get the estimate in writing so you can compare it, and ask which licence covers your job.

I spoke with Laura yesterday evening, and she scheduled Daniel to swing by this morning, 9/1. Daniel and Andrew were extremely kind and helpful. You can tell Daniel and Laura are dedicated to their service and know how to take care of their customers. We did not end up needing their help for this call but I will be utilizing them for all my plumbing work going forward. Greatly appreciate their response, professionalism, and knowledge sharing. They are the real deal folks!
We have four Mitsubishi mini-split A/C heat pumps that were nearly 15 years old. During the heat wave in July, the two units in our bedrooms were not cooling properly. Since we have a maintenance contract on them (and our furnace) with Boston Standard (who originally installed them as New England Ductless, we called them to perform a leak test. They discovered no leak on the outdoor unit or in the bedroom units, and determined the leak was in the line sets. The recommendation was to replace the entire system, due to the age of the equipment and the leak rate was such that we would likely lose all of the coolant quickly if they recharged the outdoor unit. They gave me an estimate to replace the system, which was nearly as high as we paid for the two outdoor and four indoor units years ago. A friend recommended I call Definition Services and we had Leo Pesegoginski come out and discuss our situation. He provided an estimate that was several thousand dollars lower that what Boston Standard advised. We opted to use Definition to replace the old equipment and install a new Mitsubishi system. Ben Strolsky and James Gabriel (along with two electricians) came out and did a terrific job switching out the old with the new pieces. In less than six hours the system was leak checked, fully charged with coolant and working perfectly. Your employees were very courteous, efficient and removed all of the old pieces, cleaning up both indoors and outdoors when the job was complete. Kudos to Definition Services for everything you did.
Wonderful plumbing service! The cost was fair, and I really appreciated their honesty, care, and professionalism. Daniel and his staff took the time to explain everything and made sure the job was done right, even coordinating a general contractor to complete the finish work. It’s refreshing to find a plumbing company that truly cares about its customers. Highly recommend!
The two technicians were very nice and professional . Their estimates were too high, even after the discounts they offered. All the best to them. I did not buy from them, just paid the service fee.
