Delfshaven Designs Custom Woodworking

Brett measured a tricky corner of one customer's kitchen and built an addition to the cabinets already there — it looks like it was always there, that homeowner wrote in October 2025, only more solidly built than the stock boxes beside it. That is the work Delfshaven Designs is built for: one-off cabinetry, built-ins and furniture made to fit a room that fights back. The Springfield company describes itself as family-owned with over a decade behind it, and Brett himself with more than 20 years of woodworking experience. Its own site lists a service area across the Pioneer Valley — Agawam, Longmeadow, Chicopee, Holyoke, Westfield and Northampton among the towns named. Built-ins carry the written history, which runs from 2019 to 2026 across 40 reviews on Google, Houzz and Thumbtack, with a 4.8-star Google average from 25 ratings. A 2024 customer said Brett and his team made their built-in dreams come true; another that year pointed to bookshelves guests notice the moment they walk in; a third had an entire wall of shelves, cabinetry and a workstation built and said it came in on time and within budget. Furniture is the other half of the shop. A February 2024 reviewer got a spalted maple live-edge fireplace mantel, installed and finished quickly; another that same month had a kitchen table built to fit their space. Reviewers on Houzz in 2019 described custom benches, a large kitchen island matched to existing cabinets, and oak kitchen cabinets brought back to looking new. In 2020, a Thumbtack customer handed him a warped, wobbly French antique table and got back a counter-height kitchen island finished with custom-cut granite. One account runs the other way. In June 2026 a Google reviewer left one star, writing in Spanish that there was little or no courtesy toward customers — the lone complaint among 40 reviews going back to 2019, and the newest one written. The platform averages also sit apart: 4.8 on Google against 4.4 on Thumbtack, from 25 ratings each. If you want one maker to design, build and install a piece that has to fit an odd wall or match cabinetry already in the room, Brett is a sound call. Get the drawing and the price up front — a May 2024 customer had both back quickly — and settle the timeline for your own job before he starts.
