A 2022 customer wrote that their oil tank gauge broke with less than an 1/8 tank left when it was 10 degrees out, and that the driver climbed over wood, a lawnmower and around a trailer to get to the fill. Dependable Energy describes itself on its BBB page as a fuel delivery and HVAC company: BioHeat fuel oil, diesel and propane, plus oil and gas heating systems and air conditioning. The company says it has been in business 32 years, and its website lists a service area that includes Prospect, Waterbury, Naugatuck, Meriden, Hamden and New Haven. Its BBB page is an A+. A 2023 customer said Keith explained the options and the changes needed before a 45+ year-old boiler was replaced, and that the installation date held with no postponements. A 2023 customer thanked Lauren, Keith, Ed and Tanner for replacing a 26-year-old boiler and, later, an oil tank. A 2021 customer said Keith did a mini-split install that was done in 2 days. A 2024 customer thanked Edward, Tanner and Garrett for installing a new air conditioning system and said they had been a customer for over 25 years for oil and furnace maintenance. A 2025 customer who switched their propane service said the tanks were delivered on the date promised. A 2024 customer said the company switched their oil furnace to a propane heater and tankless hot water. A 2023 customer said a whole-house generator and propane tanks were installed by Dependable and an affiliate company. A 2025 customer said a furnace stopped working a day after a routine cleaning in which the company said the issue was fixed, that they were then told they needed a whole new furnace, and that they spent 700 dollars for nothing.
