Design Works Landscaping has customers calling for both flower beds and built outdoor spaces. A July 2026 Google reviewer described working with Zak on two smaller beds, choosing plants that would be easy to maintain while caring for an infant. The customer said he returned to check the flowers and explain their upkeep, and that Design Works offered the most reasonable of the quotes they received. In June 2026, another homeowner described a new retaining wall and plantings that made their patio and fire-pit area feel more private. Based in Hudson, the company says it has been locally owned since 2006 and serves southern New Hampshire and nearby Massachusetts towns. It offers landscape design and construction, ongoing residential and commercial maintenance, irrigation care and snow management, and says it responds within two business days. Google shows 4.7 stars from 62 ratings; Houzz shows 4.9 from 33. Its BBB grade is A+. Maintenance customers describe returning service across seasons. An April 2026 reviewer praised fertilizer, irrigation, lawn maintenance and retaining-wall repairs, while another said the company had handled spring and fall cleanups for several years. In an October 2025 review, a homeowner described installation of a patio, walls, fire pit, walkway, plantings, lawn and irrigation system, followed by continuing maintenance. They said staff answered calls and texts promptly, explained adjustments during hot weather and succeeded in improving the lawn by fall. There are also specific complaints. An October 2025 Google reviewer said they repeatedly had to request that a fence be closed, needed two calls to correct irrigation settings and remained dissatisfied with outsourced hydroseeding and the response to their concerns. A January 2024 reviewer criticized commercial plowing at their development, describing snow-covered parking, uncleared sidewalk sections, parking spaces obstructed by snow piles and lawn damage. By contrast, a December 2025 HOA reviewer described dependable snow removal, usually prompt clearing even in heavier storms, and quick responses to concerns. Older landscaping customers described detailed work and follow-up. In a June 2024 Google review, a homeowner said Design Works rebuilt a deteriorating stone walkway while reusing nine existing granite risers, then redesigned overgrown front-yard beds. A July 2024 reviewer described native plant options around conservation constraints, sod and planting installation, grass and drip irrigation, and replacement of shrubs that failed a few months after the project was finished.
