A return visit — a 2025 customer said they fixed insulation the HVAC guy messed up
Booking lead time — a 2023 customer said they were booked a month out
Discount Insulation Company says it was established in 1981 and is owned and operated by Stu Ferguson. Its website lists energy audits for homes and insulation for crawl spaces, garage ceilings and attics.
A recent customer said Stu and his team insulated the main attic and basement rim joists, and noticed a difference in how well the house kept its warmth during the colder winter months. A recent customer wrote that the company insulated three attics in the house and the garage ceiling under the bedroom, and did a great job cleaning up.
A 2026 customer said Stu and his team insulated the attic, exterior walls, basement and garage in one week, and wrote, "we were in the house the entire time with no issues going in and out while they worked." A 2026 reviewer said a couple of walls couldn't be insulated due to structural limitations, and a credit was provided for those areas without any prompting. That 2026 customer also said the thermostat could be lowered by at least 4 degrees.
A 2025 customer said they came back the following week to fix some insulation that the HVAC guy the customer hired messed up after their job was done. A 2023 customer said Stu filled an attic that a different company had not done correctly, with no charge, and gave money back since a few walls didn't need insulating.
A 2023 customer said the company gets very busy, booked out a month or more in advance.
Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0672797, as active, held by DISCOUNT INSULATION.

Exceptional Service & Noticeable Results!
I cannot recommend Stu and his team at Discount Insulation enough. We had them out earlier this year to insulate our main attic and basement rim joists, and the entire experience was great from start to finish.
They provided a fair and honest quote with absolutely no pressure or hidden fees. Stu and his team were on time, incredibly mindful of keeping our house clean, friendly & courteous, and did a fantastic job.

Stu and his team are amazing! They work quickly, efficiently, and clean up as they go. They insulated our attic, exterior walls, basement, and garage in just one week—and we were in the house the entire time with no issues going in and out while they worked.
