Turning a two-family into one house is a demolition job, a structural job and a permitting job at once, and it is the work homeowners keep describing here. A client writing in 2020 recounted a two-year project in which Dishington converted their two-family into a single family — design, town approvals, then the build. Another, writing in 2017, described the same conversion across three floors, from the design-build phase through completion. The company works out of Natick under two names. BBB carries the file as Jensen Hus with "Dishington Construction, Inc." as an alternate name, and Houzz runs them together as one design-build profile; both point back to Nathan Dishington, whom BBB lists as owner of a three-employee corporation incorporated in July 2012. BBB grades it A+, though the business is not BBB accredited — different things, and worth keeping straight. Twelve homeowners have written about the work, every one of them a five-star account, and the specifics are unusually technical for remodeling reviews. In a May 2023 review, a client walked through a kitchen and bath renovation in a 105-year-old house that involved relocating the basement stairs and squaring the walls, ceilings and floors. A February 2019 client remodeling most of a first floor credited the subcontractor procedures — clear instructions, few idle days waiting on a trade. Reviewers in 2018 and 2017 said their projects landed on time and on budget, and a 2017 basement client liked the result enough to expand the job into re-siding the exterior. Houzz shows 62 project portfolios and 5.0 across 23 ratings; Porch shows 5.0 across 22 aggregated online ratings, without review text. Two things are worth raising before you call. First, the written record runs 2017 to 2023 — nothing newer than that May 2023 review, so the praise is real but none of it is fresh; ask for a reference from a job finished this year. Second, the licence: Houzz lists construction supervisor number CS-101458 and Porch reproduces the owner's claim to be a licensed general contractor in Massachusetts, but those are directory entries, not confirmations, and it is easy enough to check the number with the state yourself. BBB's three-employee headcount is also fair to ask about if you are handing over a whole-house project. This is a fit for the substantial job — a gut remodel, an addition, an old house that needs structural work along with new finishes — from an outfit that draws the plans and then builds them. For a small repair it is likely more company than you need.

Nathan Dishington, owner of Jensen Hus undoubtedly deserves a 5-star rating on Houzz for the orchestration and delivery of a highly technical and challenging kitchen and bath renovation. The project was multi-faceted, involving the relocation of the basement stairs, structural modifications and squaring the walls, ceilings, and floors in a 105-year-old home. No small feat! Nate was extremely responsive in project management, communicating regular updates, and coordinated seamlessly with our kitchen designer and all the trades. The result was truly spectacular. We now have a highly functioning kitchen and bath complete with a huge island and vaulted ceiling and new basement stair location. We could not be happier with this stunning transformation.
Nathan is a true professional with talent in design and construction. We are completing a whole house renovation with new floors, systems, lighting, kitchen and bathrooms. He helped us design our project inside and out, listening to our desires and taste. He has taken us from start to finish and is responsive and works to make sure we are happy with every detail. We give Nathan our highest recommendation for any project.
I worked with Nate and his team over 2 years on a massive renovation project. He converted our 2 family into a gorgeous single family and was there with us every step of the way, from design, to getting the plans approved by the town to the actual work. Always responsive, detailed and accountable in his work, Dishington construction was a pleasure to work with.
Our friends and family had to stage an intervention because all we would talk about is how much we loved our experience with Dishington Construction. We used Dishington Construction to remodel our kitchen, master bathroom, laundry room, deck, living room, hallway, dining room and den. Our experience was overwhelmingly positive. Nate is really in the business of building trust by doing exactly what he says all the time. He has created a truly wonderful customer experience by using modern on-line based project management practices, professional communication, and a transparent specification and budgeting process. The quality of work is outstanding. Every sub-contractor we interacted with had great relationships with Nate and followed the methodology he set out. Our house was cleaned as much as possible every night, and every effort was made for us to be able to function during the construction. Sub-contractors had clear instructions and procedures to follow when they had questions or encountered unforeseen problems. Nate was at the site often, solving and preventing problems. When issues arose, Nate provided several solutions based on our goals and budget and let us decide what to do. Also, there were virtually no “down days” where we were waiting for sub-contractors to finish work, as Nate had organized everything so that the project finished as scheduled. We were lucky enough that our also wonderful designer referred Nate to us, and we enthusiastically recommend Dishington Construction for any project. We will definitely be using Nate in the future.
We have undergone several construction projects on our house with various contractors and if we ever do anything else, I would go straight to Nathan Dishington. Communication is key in any project, and Nathan always responds in a timely manner to any of our questions. He is straightforward with descriptions of the work, pros and cons, and explanations of how the work will be done. Nathan finds creative solutions for tricky problems and suggests practical alternatives that were in keeping with the design-related style. He works incredibly hard and the results reflect his craftmanship, creativity, and care for the project and the client! We love our new master bathroom and the updated hall bathroom he did. Thank you Nathan!
