Walls that aren't plumb, ceilings that angle — a homeowner writing in September 2025 said their 100-year-old house threw all of that at DM Construction's crew, and the built-in cabinetry still came out looking, in their words, completely seamless. That is the job this Malden outfit keeps getting called for: carpentry in rooms that fight back. Diego Miranda runs it. The company's site says he came to the United States from Brazil in 2016 and started DM Construction Custom Design after landing in Boston, and it reports about ten years in business; a second contact, Thais, is listed alongside him. The advertised range is wide — renovations, custom homes, new construction, carpentry, cabinetry, painting and tile, for houses and commercial buildings alike. What customers actually describe is narrower and more specific. Eight Google reviews posted between September 2024 and October 2025, every one at five stars, with Google's own average at 5.0 across those 8 ratings. An October 2025 customer had a small bar built in their basement, liked it, and came back for a pantry. Another, in October 2024, had the entire house done and wrote that neighbors keep remarking on it. A commercial property owner writing that same month said several projects had come back exactly as wanted, and a September 2024 client credited the crew with refining the design and delivering it on time and on budget. The thing worth raising is the distance between that advertised scope and the work people write about. The accounts here are built-ins, cabinetry, a home library, a basement bar — finish carpentry, done carefully. If you are hiring for a gut renovation or ground-up construction, ask to see those projects specifically rather than assuming the cabinetry praise carries over. For custom cabinetry and built-ins in an older Greater Boston home, this is a small shop with a short, consistent history behind it. Ask for comparable jobs you can look at, and pin the scope down in writing before work starts.

We hired Diego to do a small bar in our basement and it came out really nice. After that he did our pantry and it also came out really nice . I highly recommend DM CONSTRUCTION.
Diego and his team helped us with two built-in carpentry projects, and did a phenomenal job. Our house is over 100 years old, and even with walls that weren't plumb and angled ceilings, the cabinetry looks completely seamless. He's magic. Highly recommend!
A highly qualified team of professionals capable of performing delicate tasks. I highly recommend them!
Working with Diego and his team was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my home. From the very beginning, he was easy to communicate with, respectful of timelines, and extremely committed to quality. What really stood out to me was the attention to detail and the pride he takes in his work. You can tell he genuinely cares about the final result and customer satisfaction. Every part of the project was handled with care — no shortcuts, no surprises. I felt confident throughout the entire process, and the outcome turned out better than I imagined. If you’re looking for someone honest, skilled, and dependable, I absolutely recommend him. I’ll definitely call him again for future projects!
Can’t say enough good things about these contractors! Did a fantastic job on our home library!!! Couldn’t be happier!!
