"Simply, we design kitchens and bathrooms spaces," Dovetailed Kitchens says on its Houzz profile, which places its showroom in downtown Portsmouth. It holds a 5.0-star Houzz rating from 9 ratings, and nhhomemagazine.com has written about its showroom and kitchen designer Scott Purswell. A 2015 customer said Dovetailed Kitchens provided design services and a referral to a contractor, and managed a full remodel of their kitchen. A 2015 customer who was doing much of their own kitchen work said they bought their counters from Scott, that he helped design the rest of the kitchen, and that he was about the same price as anyone else. A 2015 reviewer who made cold calls at kitchen design shops in the Portsmouth area wrote that Scott listened to their questions about cabinetry quality and design and arranged the installer. A 2014 customer said Dovetailed Kitchens designed the kitchen for their 32-year-old saltbox home, going for an open Craftsman-style kitchen, and that Scott never once tried to convince them to spend more than they needed. In a 2016 review, the architecture firm D|A wrote that it had worked with Dovetail Kitchens in the Seacoast area for over 15 years.
