Ductworks is a heating and cooling company in Southington, where a Reddit commenter suggested getting a quote from it on a Carrier system and called it one of the few dealers certified in Carrier Infinity. On Google it holds 4.8 stars from 754 ratings, and the Better Business Bureau grades it A+. The company says it has been in business 34 years, and its website also lists electrical work such as panel upgrades, EV charging stations and whole-house generators. Zachary Paradis handled one customer's annual A/C service: he reconnected the system to the Ecobee app, reset the blower speed so it ran quieter, added freon, and showed the readings as he tested. Zachary diagnosed and repaired a leak in one customer's unit and installed a trap to help monitor the system. Aaron and his team installed a full new air-conditioning system for one customer, and Brian, the supervisor, came during the installation to check the work. When a furnace stopped working around 7pm, one customer said Ductworks contacted them within 20 minutes and set an appointment for the next day. A customer converting from oil to gas said the manager, Eric, came back to hook up a new gas stove and hauled the old one away at no extra cost. In a 2025 review, a customer said Zach, Ethan and Fernando installed a furnace and condenser, covered the rugs first, and that Zach found and relabeled a breaker the builder had mislabeled. A recent 1-star customer said Ductworks installed several mini-split systems about three years ago and that two indoor units have since had water and condensation problems, one sending water down an interior wall; that customer said a promised written report from the service visit never arrived. A recent customer said Ductworks quoted a full HVAC replacement for their condo, and that a second opinion found only the main thermostat needed replacing. A recent 2-star customer said a cleaning and annual service visit left the equipment uncleaned and the filter unchanged. A recent 1-star customer said the company tried to charge for something they did not need and that they complained to Consumer Protection. A 2026 customer wrote that a new air conditioner bought for close to 10 grand lasted three years.
“get a quote for the 27VNA3 with a 60k LP furnace from Ductworks in Southington. They are one of the few dealers that is certified in Carrier Infinity.”
“Ductworks in Southington, I cant recommend them enough.”
“Some Hartford HVAC companies send subcontractors to cover their jobs, but not Ductworks HVAC Services”
Jared did a great job. Was prompt, thorough and neat. He walked me through all details prior to and after doing the work. Would use again
Very disappointing experience with Ductworks, both with the installation and how the problems have been handled afterward. Ductworks installed multiple mini-split systems at my property approximately three years ago. I have now experienced water/condensation problems involving two separate indoor units. The most recent problem resulted in water running down the interior wall and property damage. After opening the line-set cover to determine where the water was coming from, I found refrigerant piping with significant corrosion and areas where the insulation was open, deteriorated, or not adequately covering the piping. There was orange/copper-colored residue throughout the area and running down the wall. I have extensive photographs and videos documenting the condition. I also had concerns regarding the installation/pitch of the condensate drain. I ultimately brought in an independent HVAC professional to inspect the installation because I was concerned about the workmanship and about similar problems developing elsewhere. What has been equally frustrating is Ductworks' response. Rather than addressing my concerns about the refrigerant-line insulation and repeated condensation issues, I was told their technician found and cleared a “clogged condensate drain” and that this was a major cause of the leak. I repeatedly requested the technician's written report explaining how the clog was diagnosed, where it was located, what was done to clear it, and how drainage was verified. Their Service Manager eventually told me in writing that he would contact the technician and provide a more detailed write-up. I followed up again and still have not received it. My more recent messages have also gone unanswered. I have video from the service visit, and I do not see the technician vacuuming, flushing, blowing out, snaking, or otherwise clearing the condensate line or accessing the exterior drain termination. Despite this, the alleged clogged drain continues to be cited as an explanation for the water problem. My biggest concern is that these systems are only about three years old, I have now had similar water/condensation concerns involving more than one indoor unit, there has been property damage, and I have been unable to get Ductworks to meaningfully address my concerns about the installation. I gave the company multiple opportunities to address this directly before posting this review. At this point, I am extremely disappointed with both the workmanship issues I have encountered and the customer service afterward. I will update this review if Ductworks responds and makes a meaningful effort to resolve the situation.
Zach was very focused and thorough. He spent time with each of the split boxes and explained what he was doing and why. Very experienced and dedicated!
My husband and I did a lot of research to settle on a company that we felt would provide a quality HVAC replacement and stellar service, and Ductworks has consistently delivered. We had some very specific needs, and needed a reliable system that would be up to task - thanks to the thorough and exemplary work of the technicians at Ductworks (especially Justin and Eric, who have been nothing short of outstanding), we have been able to achieve our ideal state. We’re thrilled with the outcome and service, and can’t say enough good things about the Ductworks team. THANK YOU!!
Professional! I have used ductwork’s for few years and they’re great.
