When one homeowner's contractor walked off mid-job — kitchen cabinets half up, flooring unfinished — Eric happened to be free the next day. He finished the kitchen, repaired the mishaps the other contractor left, and came back another day. That September 2026 job is the kind of call E.B. Mann takes: custom carpentry, at short notice, for people who want something built to fit rather than a room gutted. The shop is in Lancaster, and its own site describes reclaimed and custom furniture and cabinetry, blending vintage form with modern function. Thumbtack lists 21 years in business, 69 projects, Top Pro status and a background check. Most of what clients describe is a piece made for one spot. In August 2026 a client watched Eric adjust a new cabinet on the fly so it would sit right in their space, and move a ceiling light out of the way and reinstall it; another that month got a table and called him knowledgeable and responsive. A December 2025 client had custom cabinets, drawers and open shelves put into a walk-in pantry. A July 2025 bookshelf came out solid and beautifully finished, in that client's words, and in May 2025 another said Eric asked questions until the cabinet was what they wanted, then communicated clearly and checked in regularly. Two designers, writing in 2021, had hired him repeatedly for their own clients — custom benches, an electric fireplace feature wall, a bookcase wall — and one credited him with a design eye alongside the joinery. Clients writing in 2020 describe a closet remodel delivered on time and several return engagements. The snag is the calendar. A January 2022 client, who still recommended him, said he sometimes takes a long time to finish or needs multiple trips to get things right; a December 2025 client's project went through delays and reschedules before landing as good quality work. Across 60 Thumbtack ratings the average is 4.5, with 83% of them at five stars, and all six Houzz reviews are five-star. If you want a built-in, a cabinet or a table made for a particular spot, and you care more about how it comes out than about the exact week it lands, Eric is a strong fit. Settle the finish date and how many visits the job will take before he starts, and ask to see one of the projects on his Thumbtack page closest to what you have in mind.
I contacted Eric when my other contractor quit in the middle of putting up the kitchen cabinets and flooring not done. He happened to be available the next day and finished the job in the kitchen (he also repaired mishaps from the other contractor) he came back another day to complete the flooring in the stair case. He would have did the flooring, but we didn’t have the right material…so, he made a wrong situation right and didn’t take any short cuts. He also installed a door and picked it up as well. He is very knowledgeable, and professional. I would highly recommend Eric and utilize him again for any future projects.…Read more

Eric is a skilled carpenter who made adjustments on the fly to the new cabinet he built so it would fit our space perfectly. He was even able to move a ceiling light out of the way and reinstall it. I would rehire for other jobs.
Although my project went through a several delays and reschedules, Eric completed my project with good quality work. He installed custom cabinets, drawers, and a number of open shelves in a walk in pantry. The materials were great quality and installed professionally.
Great Job installing my new cabinets and some carpentry. Prompt, professional and did a great job cleaning up and disposing of the old cabinets and counters which I appreciate!
