Elm Street Builders is a Kingston-based residential general contractor run by Seth Marois, who the company says brings around 20 years of experience to renovations, additions and the custom cabinetry and furniture the firm builds in-house. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, and the South Shore firm markets itself on craftsman-style, detail-oriented finish work rather than production-scale remodels. The written record here is dated rather than absent: a 2018 review described Seth as the most prompt and professional of several contractors bid for a renovation, with an eye suited to blending new work into an older, vintage home, and a 2016 review detailed a garage conversion into a living room, bathroom and mudroom that came in with a competitively priced, accurate estimate and finished on schedule. Both reviewers singled out close, hands-on communication from Seth himself throughout the project. Beyond those two written accounts, Porch lists a 5.0-star rating from three aggregated ratings but doesn't publish review text, and its own service list runs from additions and full bathroom and kitchen renovations to fine finish carpentry, siding and accessibility work — worth confirming which of those the crew still actively takes on before hiring for anything outside the renovation work described above. This looks like the right call for a South Shore homeowner who wants a small, owner-led crew for a whole-room renovation or custom built-in work, particularly in an older home where matching existing detail matters — get a current timeline and references given how dated the written reviews are.

We recently had a renovation done by Elm Street Builders. We had several people come and quote us on the job. Seth was by far the most prompt, polite and professional. We immediately felt comfortable having him and his team work on our house. We also chose Elm Street Builders because of the craftsman style work they do. We live in a vintage home and wanted the renovations to flow with the older aspects of the the house, Seth has a excellent eye for this kind of work and is very detail oriented. Additionally, he was very forthcoming with problems and budget aware, as well as timely and professional. He answered all of our questions (and we had a lot!) quickly and thoughtfully. They truly did an excellent job, our kitchen looks beautiful! We plan to use Elm Street Builders for any future work that we need done on our house.
We are so pleased with the work that Elm Street Builders did for us, pleased with every step of the process. We hired Elm Street Builders to convert our garage into a living room, bathroom and mudroom. We added a new entryway and had them replace several windows, install new siding, and build a pantry. We had quite a few contractors out for estimates and Seth's came in the fastest. It was also competitively priced and ended up being very accurate. They also finished on time which I know is quite a feat in the world of home improvement. Seth oversaw every step and was very communicative throughout the process. Every detail was thought of and he was very open to any ideas, but was very knowledgeable about best practices. We love our new spaces; they are well crafted and a joy to be in! Seth and his skilled employee are very nice people and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Elm Street Builders!
