Emerald City Kitchen & Bath is a Plymouth remodeling shop that Carrie and Jeremy Medford, a husband-and-wife team, say they've run since 1999, with the work centered on kitchens and baths — countertop replacements, tile, cabinetry, and full bathroom overhauls like shower removals and rebuilds. The recurring praise in its reviews is process: a project manager who "responded to my questions quickly and thoroughly," installers who show up on time, and repeat mentions of specific staff — Crystal, Laurie, Cara the interior designer — being hands-on through a job. One late-2025 review described a bath remodel where the contractor, plumber and electrician all arrived on schedule and listened carefully to design concerns; another, from a realtor, credited the company's communication and timing enough to keep recommending it to clients. That said, the record isn't unbroken. A December 2025 review described a starkly different experience on a new-home project: poor communication, multiple mistakes the reviewer says weren't caught because the company didn't ask the right questions upfront, and an installer who had to be asked to leave the property after a dispute with the homeowner's general contractor. A much older, undated-platform web review described a poorly finished fireplace edge and chronic lateness. Both are worth weighing against the more recent run of positive, detailed reviews. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is verified active with the state. On Houzz it carries a 4.6-star average across 28 reviews, five Houzz Awards, and past Angie's List Super Service recognition; the company also cites affiliation with the National Kitchen and Bath Association and the Natural Stone Institute. Its BBB listing (under a related name, Emerald City Granite, at the same address) carries no rating and isn't accredited. For a kitchen or bath remodel centered on stone and tile work, this is a shop with a long history and mostly strong, specific reviews — worth asking directly how they'd handle a job with unusual complications, given the one account that says otherwise.
“The worst experience ever. We gave them the business because we new the family. This is the way they left the front edge of the fireplace. The pictures speak for itself. Always late for their appointments, unreliable, complete lack of professionalism. Do not recommend.”
Worked with Jeremy and his team. Great people to do work with. Quality and honest work. Highly recommend.
The entire process was incredibly easy. Communication with the Project Manager was outstanding—she responded to my questions quickly and thoroughly. The carpenter, granite installers, and plumber all arrived on time, were polite, and worked very hard. I was extremely impressed with the quality of their workmanship. Without hesitation, I would use them again.
Emerald Cory has just completed the countertop replacement and tile work in our kitchen. Everyone was very easy to work with and replied promptly to any questions we had. We love our new kitchen look! We highly recommend Emerald City!
Emerald City was excellent to work with throughout our bath remodel. Crystal was hands-on from start to finish and made sure everything ran smoothly. The contractor, plumber, and electrician all arrived on time, were very efficient, listened carefully to our concerns, and delivered outstanding workmanship. Cara, the interior designer, was spot on with the design-her vision truly brought the space together beautifully. We highly recommend Emerald City for your ny home project. 12/2025
Our experience was horrible! They have the worst communication and do not proactively ask the customer the correct questions in order to avoid massive mistakes which led to us having MULTIPLE mistakes in our brand new home! The person who came to template for the stone to be cut had to be escorted off of our property because he fought with our GC! Awful and overpriced!
