Emerald City Kitchen & Bath

Emerald City Kitchen & Bath is a Plymouth, MA remodeling shop that Carrie and Jeremy Medford describe as a family- and veteran-owned business they've run since 1999, focused mainly on granite and stone countertops, tile, and cabinet work rather than gut-to-the-studs room overhauls. Named staff — project managers Crystal and Laurie among them — show up by name across most of its Google reviews, a sign of a small, hands-on operation rather than a rotating crew. The bulk of the reviews are strongly positive: an extensive granite selection with installation completed on time, a countertop replacement and tile job in a kitchen the homeowner called a new look they loved, a tile shower installed in a master bath with design help picking the tile, and repeated praise for scheduling — installers who show up when promised, project managers who return calls and answer questions, and a contractor a self-identified realtor said she keeps recommending to clients. Two things are worth knowing before booking. In a December 2025 review, a customer described a stone-templating visit that led to multiple mistakes in their brand-new home and called the communication around it the worst part of the experience. And in an old 2014 online post, a different customer described unreliable scheduling and a poorly finished fireplace edge — a single, years-old account, but a real complaint about the actual work rather than a passing gripe. The Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration on file is active, and the company holds National Kitchen and Bath Association and Natural Stone Institute affiliations along with several Houzz and Angie's List awards dating back to 2012. For anyone weighing a countertop, tile, or bathroom fixture project on the South Shore or Cape Cod, this is a long-running, award-recognized shop with a mostly strong track record — the stone-templating complaint is worth asking about directly if the project involves custom-cut stone.
