A December 2025 foundation-work complaint is a serious part of Everlast Masonry's customer history. The Google reviewer said a repair intended to stop water intrusion made leaks worse and had to be redone by another contractor. They described unsuccessful attempts to resolve the matter through calls, messages, a BBB complaint and mediation before filing in court. According to that reviewer, the NH Circuit Court in Keene entered judgment in their favor on November 10, 2025, in case 449-2025-SC-00058, finding the work was not of workmanlike quality and awarding the full amount paid. They said the judgment remained unpaid when they wrote in December 2025. The same customer reported that Keene officials told them a permit was required for the job and none was on file. These are the customer's accounts of the work, permitting and court outcome. Other customers describe chimney and step work positively. A May 2026 reviewer praised rebuilding a chimney at a 200-year-old house, including attention to its appearance and construction. Another May customer said the chimney job took about a month from first contact to completion and praised progress photos. A June 2026 front-step customer said the stairs were completed exactly as wanted, with responsive communication and fair pricing. Older accounts include an October 2025 chimney-rebuild customer who said Jered passed along savings when the job came in under budget. In May 2025, a homeowner praised restoration of mortar joints on a 175-year-old brick house and replacement of exterior steps with concrete and granite. A November 2023 customer described a chimney repair and cap at a lower price than another provider's quote, with before-and-after photos. The company says it offers brick and stone masonry across Cheshire and Belknap counties, including Keene and Laconia. Its directory description says it has laid brick, block and stone since 2005. Google lists 4.7 stars from 30 ratings; Angi and HomeAdvisor each list five stars from four ratings.
Jered did a wonderful job on our front steps. He was responsive in communication, fair on his pricing, and efficient with his work. The stairs were completed exactly how we wanted. Thank you Jered, we will keep you in mind for future masonry jobs!
Jared does excellent work. When he commits to doing a job he follows through, manages all the unexpected challenges and pays attention to details. He removed and rebuilt a stone facets chimney in our 200 year old house. He took the time to make sure it was built right and looked great.
Jered did a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ job on my front steps. Highly recommend him.
Jered Reed responded quickly to my outreach and from first contact to final product, finished in about a month. He sent pictures so that I could see what he'd done and he did a beautiful job on my chimney. Would recommend and hire him again.
DO NOT HIRE EVERLAST MASONRY / JERED REED. I hired Jered Reed (Everlast Masonry) to repair/replace a section of my residential foundation to stop water intrusion. After his work, the leaks were worse, and he refused to meaningfully engage or correct the problems. Because this is a foundation (a structural component), workmanship matters—building codes exist specifically to ensure structural repairs are performed in a safe, verifiable manner. I also want to be clear: I did not rush to court. I tried repeatedly to resolve this directly and professionally first—phone calls, text messages, a BBB complaint, and mediation—without success. Only after those efforts failed did I file in court. When the work was later opened up/removed to be redone properly, what I documented (and will post photos of) showed a repair that lacked basic elements commonly required for code-compliant foundation masonry work and that ultimately had to be rebuilt correctly. The practical outcome was that I had to hire another contractor, obtain proper permitting, and redo the work. At the outset—when I contacted the City of Keene Community Development Department about the problem—they informed me that this type of foundation work required a permit, and there was no permit on record for this job. I then specifically asked whether he or his company had any permit history on file in Keene, and they told me they do not have any records of him ever doing permitted work. If you hire him, demand the permit number in writing BEFORE work begins and verify it directly with the city. This ended in court. The NH Circuit Court (Keene) entered judgment in my favor on November 10, 2025 (Case: 449-2025-SC-00058). The court found the work was not of “workmanlike quality” and awarded me the full amount I paid him because the work had to be redone. As of today, he still has not complied with the court’s order and has not paid the judgment. Also understand the risk this creates for homeowners: when work that legally requires a permit is done without one, the homeowner can be left with the responsibility and potential legal obligation to disclose that the work was unpermitted when selling the home—along with the reality that it cannot be confirmed through inspections as having been completed to code and safety standards. This will most likely bring down your selling price. If you’re considering hiring Everlast Masonry: don’t. If you already did, verify permitting immediately and have the work inspected by someone independent.
