Seventy-seven pulled permits and not a single customer review — that is the shape of Fagone Mechanical on paper. The Marblehead shop works out of 22 Atlantic Ave under owner Nicholas Fagone with a team of eleven, and the work it files for is plumbing, gas piping, boilers and water heaters, and HVAC. The permit trail is what stands in for a review history here. Twenty of those jobs landed in the last three years, most of them HVAC, at a typical permit value around $8,000 — and they spread past Marblehead into Danvers, Beverly, Rowley and as far in as Brookline. BuildZoom also puts a score of 113 on the company, but that number is built from permit and licence records, not from anything a homeowner said about the work. Two things are worth raising before you call. BuildZoom lists a Massachusetts plumbing business registration and a plumber's licence for the company and shows both as active, but marks them 'License Not Verified' — and it separately lists a Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration that it shows as inactive, saying the status was at one point cancelled. None of that is a state confirmation in either direction, so ask them for the current numbers and check them with the Commonwealth yourself. The company does carry listed general liability cover through Arbella to $1,000,000 and workers' comp through The Hartford at $500,000, and it is a member of the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce. If you want a North Shore mechanical contractor with a documented volume of permitted heating and plumbing work close to home, this is a real, active shop. What you can't get from anywhere public is what customers thought of it, so lean harder than usual on references and on confirming the licences directly with the state.
