Fairway Lawn & Tree Service is a Harwich-based lawn, tree and shrub, and mosquito/tick control company that Tom Fair started as its president after 30 years working for a larger regional lawn-care company that was later sold to a national chain. The company says its technicians are all certified MA pesticide applicators, and Fair is a past president of the Cape Cod Landscape Association. For years, that experience showed in the reviews. Between 2022 and 2024, customers -- including one who said they'd spent 25 years as a landscaping-industry executive -- repeatedly praised how the lawn turned out, naming technicians Tony and Matt by name for doing an outstanding job. But the two most recent reviews tell a different story. In July 2026, a customer of about 1.5 years -- a landscape architect for nearly 50 years -- said the lawn went from looking like a golf course to a fungal-infested mess whose problems were never addressed, and described the company as no longer the locally owned operation it used to be. A March 2026 review echoed the same shift: great years ago, but this past season the company still charged for visits it didn't show up for. Against that, a late-February 2026 review credited Chris Ingwersen with helpfully rescheduling a treatment around a sprinkler repair. Worth asking about directly: what's changed operationally in the past year, since two separate 2026 reviewers independently describe the same drop-off from what had been solid, years-long service. The website's self-described ownership by Tom Fair doesn't line up cleanly with one reviewer's sense that the company isn't locally owned anymore -- worth clarifying who's actually running the crew that shows up at your door. Fairway also markets mosquito and tick control and tree/shrub work alongside its core lawn program, though the reviews on file focus almost entirely on the lawn-care side.
Awful company. Used to be locally owned and highly reccomended. As a landcape architect for almost 50 years, I entrusted them with my small lawn care for 1.5 years and went from a golf course looking green to fungal infested mess of a lawn whose issues were never addressed. Recently I tried giving them aonother try. Paid a disputed bill and they promised me a consultation...still waiting 5 weeks later for even just a call back...."their techs are busy". They they re-billed me for the same invoice I had paid. Run, don't walk away from this company.
Still required to pay for the service, even when they didn't come. Years ago when we started they were great. This past season - still makes me MAD.
Fairway Lawn (Chris Ingwersen) was very helpful in rescheduling by lawn service treatment due my sprinkler repairs. I can always count on him to handle any issues with lawn care.
My lawn looks incredible. I have been an executive in the landscaping business for 25 years. Don’t hesitate in hiring these guys!
Great company. Keep lawn green and weeds gone.
