Fence 101 is a Westborough outfit run by Fabio, and the thing that turns up again and again across a wide, mostly-recent review history is speed: people describe getting a quote within hours of reaching out and a start date that actually holds. The crew installs and repairs vinyl, aluminum, chain link, wood stockade and iron fencing and gates, working across the MetroWest area and into the Boston 'Boroughs. On Google, 102 ratings average 4.8★, and the Better Business Bureau has carried an A+ grade since the company became accredited in January 2021 — a track record that runs steadily from 2021 through this summer. The specifics reviewers keep returning to: crews that finish awkward lots in a day or two (tree stumps, tight yards) without drama, tight quotes that hold once the work starts, and cleanup that leaves the yard looking better than before. A handful of customers describe hiring Fence 101 a second time — one had a chain-link fence replaced with vinyl four years after the original install, another called on the crew again for a second job entirely — and got the same responsive service both times. One customer solicited six separate bids and picked Fence 101 anyway, drawn in by the on-site consultation rather than price alone. Two recent reviews are worth asking about directly. In July 2026, a customer said Fence 101 took a 50% deposit for a repair, never showed up to do the work, and stopped responding to calls and emails about a refund. That same month, another customer described Fabio going unresponsive when they tried to get help relocating an existing Fence101 fence for an unrelated project. A similar complaint shows up further back — in a 2023 review, a customer said they got a vague, detail-free contract from a different contact at the company and no follow-up when they asked for specifics. None of these outweigh the volume of positive, detailed reviews on file, but they're specific enough to raise before paying anything upfront: get a written timeline and clear terms on any deposit. Separately, a July 2026 review about a municipal park fence project flagged the crew spray-painting a fence while children were nearby — worth a question if the job involves a public or shared space. An older, 2022 comment claiming the business had "shut down" doesn't hold up against the reviews posted every year since, including this year — it reads like stale rumor rather than anything current. For a standard install or repair, Fence 101's long, mostly positive record and the speed people describe make it a solid regional call; given the two recent deposit and follow-up complaints, put the payment and timeline terms in writing before signing.
“I just did a job about 100feet less with Fence101 that ran me about $12k. I used them when I put in a chain link a while back too and they are middle of the road in terms of cost and were a bit faster to get to the job than other places. I’d get a quote from them.”
The black fence around the bocce court being built at East Park on Shrewsbury st looks great but MAYBE YOU SHOULDNT BE SPRAY PAINTING IT WHILE KIDS ARE IN THE PARK BREATHING THOSE FUMES
Best fence company out there. Fabio and his staff show up on time. Complete the project when they say there are going to they are an absolute pleasure to work with and the fence looks amazing!!!
We definitely recommend Fence 101. Meticulous, high quality work. Our new fence and gates look fantastic and the gates open and close smoothly, good sturdy hardware. Fabio was so easy to work with for estimate and scheduling.
Overall, we’re happy with the quality of the fence. It looks great, and the crew worked very hard in the extreme heat for two days. They were professional, respectful, and did excellent work. Unfortunately, the communication before and after the installation has been very disappointing. We were initially told installation would be in about four weeks. After five weeks with no updates, we called and were told it would likely be Tuesday or Thursday of that week. We never heard anything on Monday, and then on Tuesday, when we called again, we were told the crew was on their way. We would have appreciated advance notice so we could have been home if they needed anything and got the yard ready beforehand. The fence itself turned out great, but a transitional panel and our deck gate were not installed. We’ve been told twice last week that someone would come back to finish the work, but both times no one showed up or let us know plans had changed. We completely understand that delays and mistakes happen, but better communication and a reliable timeline would have made all the difference. It’s now been two weeks since the installation, and we still haven’t heard when the remaining work will be completed. The quality of the work is excellent, but the lack of communication throughout the process makes it difficult for us to recommend the company.
Horrible experience. Took 50 percent deposit for a fence repair and never came to do the job. Not returning the deposit so that I can find another contractor. Multiple calls and emails, no response. Don't ever work with them.
