In a May 2024 review, a customer who had been to two other stove shops said Bobby at Fireside Living explained the options, helped them pick a Vermont Casting stove, and that the installation went right on time and super neat. Fireside Living is a stove shop on Union Ave in Laconia, New Hampshire, and its website says it has been in business 45 years. It holds 4.2 stars from 19 Google ratings, and in 2023 an r/newhampshire commenter said it had a great selection of working stoves and, last they checked, a very helpful staff. In May 2025 a customer said their compact Morso stove had a challenging install, and Greg (owner) came out, corrected what he could and worked with his subcontractor until the stove and pipe worked flawlessly. In a January 2022 review, a customer said Zack diagnosed a noisy blower fan on their pellet stove as the same motor again and was in and out. In March 2025 a customer said a new stove arrived with an internally damaged part, the store's certified repairman took 8 days to come out and advised replacing it, and staff later said that repairman had been fired. That customer said an employee refused a refund, and that the owner, Greg, yelled "Absolutely NOT" and insisted on repairing it. In a September 2022 review, a customer who had bought their own stove said they were told "we don't do masonry" when they asked about a hearth install.

They were very helpful
Ordered a compact Morso stove through Fireside Living. Originally had issues with our relatively challenging install, however, Greg (owner) came out and corrected what he could directly, then worked with his subcontractor to resolve my concerns. I couldn't be happier with the final install. The stove and pipe looks great and works flawlessly!
Quite possibly my worst buying/retail experience ever. In my entire life. Oddly enough I was even purchasing a brand of stove that we have owned before and, in the end, we probably would have been very happy with our purchase had we not had to deal with the owner of, or anyone who is employed by, Fireside Living. Our brand-new stove arrived with an internally damaged part. (It obviously left the factory damaged. It was wrapped tightly and protected by a wooden crate that showed zero signs of damage.) The store's certified repairman inspected it (this alone took 8 days for him to come out) and advised us against repair, since repairing it would potentially compromise our brand-new unit, and suggested we simply have the stove replaced. Many weeks passed of us assuming they were working on getting the unit replaced until I made 2 more calls. Both store employees I talked to, and the owner, in the following weeks, told me that the repairman had spoken out of turn and had been fired. I was shocked to be told at that point that they had the part on order and someone would come out to repair the stove. I explained (again) that I was not going to pay for a malfunctioning stove and would like to return it if they weren't going to replace it. She said they would not do that since it can simply “be fixed.” The more hostile and rude she got, as the conversation continued, I explained that I just wanted them to come pick up the broken stove and issue me a refund. She vehemently refused. I asked to speak with the owner. That took multiple more calls, on my part, and another rude employee at another location. Finally 6 days later I spoke to the owner, Greg, who said he had been "away on vacation." I put him on speaker phone when he started to yell at me, so others in the room could hear his yelling (it was shocking, really). He was very defensive with a raised voice throughout most of our talk. I explained I wanted a full refund. He yelled, “Absolutely NOT” and insisted he would repair it. (After his own certified repairman had insisted it should not be repaired.) I can't tell you how many times I wished I had simply googled this store before purchasing from them. The horribly rude, poor customer service that they offer is evident if you just do some research. It's my hope that taking the time to write this helps many other potential Fireside Living customers avoid the heartache and thousands of dollars of wasted money. Do Not Go To This Store. Run the other direction.
Had my new Vermont Casting stove installed this week. I’d been to two other stove shops and just wasn’t happy with the pricing or the service being offered. Luckily, I found Fireside Living and Bobby. He explained all the options and helped me pick the right model for my location. His pricing was by far the best. The installation went flawlessly. Right on time, super neat. They explained everything I wanted to know about the operation of my new stove and were just a pleasure to have in my home.
Purchased a new pellet stove from Fireside Living; I knew exactly what I wanted and they made it happen. It was ready for pickup faster than I expected and it runs great so far. Bobby and team answered all the questions I had.
