Floor Coverings International North Boston is the North Shore arm of the FCI franchise — the in-home flooring model where a van of samples comes to your kitchen table instead of you driving showroom to showroom. Owner William "Bill" Crouch runs it out of Salem, and it was set up to serve Marblehead, Swampscott, Salem, and Danvers. The work is flooring supply and installation: carpet, hardwood, laminate, and luxury vinyl, measured and laid in your home. One thing to settle before anything else — the Better Business Bureau now believes this franchise is no longer in business. Its BBB page is unaccredited and Not Rated, and the operating company, Gonzo Flooring Enterprises, was only incorporated in 2022. The lone homeowner review on record, a detailed 5.0 posted on Angi and HomeAdvisor, also dates to 2022, so there's nothing recent to say whether they're still booking jobs. If you want to use them, call first and confirm they're actually operating; don't treat the online listings as proof they're open. Should they answer, ask for a current Massachusetts registration — BBB lists BBRS #205508 — and for recent local references, since the public history here is a single project from three years back. This is a reasonable call for North Shore homeowners who'd rather shop for floors at home than in a store — but only after a phone call confirms the doors are still open.

Review for Bill Crouch of Floor Coverings International North Boston. After moving into a 1960s home we needed flooring; Bill came for an in-home consult on time with many samples (hardwood, luxury vinyl, carpet), was knowledgeable, priced out several options on a budget, and hardwood fell within range but we chose luxury vinyl. Bill and his crew arrived on time, worked around us living in the home with kids, told us the day before what to expect, finished the 3-day job on time, and Bill oversaw quality to the last detail. Beautiful result, done on time, with no added, hidden or surprise fees. Highly recommend.
