Four old interior doors that a January 2026 customer compared to onions — every layer peeled back made it worse — is the kind of job that defines Odds & Ends. Cliff Goodman's Salem crew takes the list nobody else wants to itemize: a deck rotted through, a basement wall still wearing its old wallpaper, a cabinet that no longer clears a taller refrigerator, the punch list a seller needs finished before the house lists. Estimates are where the write-ups keep landing. A May 2026 client replacing a worn-out backyard deck described the whole arc — a detailed estimate, material samples brought to the house, price options laid out, then the install. A 2025 customer with a rotting deck and roof said the quote came with best-case and worst-case pricing attached. Another in 2025 collected two bids for ceiling work: Odds & Ends came in lower and could start three weeks sooner. The range is genuinely wide. Decks, porches and stairs. Interior and exterior painting — a 2019 client had a shopworn apartment taken from bright red walls and black trim to white, with the place left spotless. Drywall and wall panelling, door frames, lattice, flooring and tile. A March 2026 client hired them to finish a bathroom renovation someone else had started: painting, cabinets, light fixtures. Repeat business is the strongest signal here. A 2019 reviewer said Cliff had been coming to their house for over a decade. Another that year was on their third project with him. A 2022 customer valued something more specific: when he doesn't know exactly how to do something, he brings in someone who does rather than improvising. The one complaint on file is from September 2018 — a customer who wrote that he promised three times to be there and never showed. It sits alone against eight years of five-star write-ups, but scheduling is the thin spot for a small crew, so fix the date and get the estimate in writing, which is what most reviewers describe happening anyway. For a homeowner with a mixed list — some carpentry, some painting, a handful of small fixes — this is the one-call option, and reasonable pricing comes up more often than any other compliment. Ask who is actually coming (Cliff, Tony, Paul and John all get named by customers), and if your job is a full room renovation rather than the finishing of one, ask up front where their scope ends.
Cliff and his crew were absolutely incredible in replacing our worn out backyard deck. The thing I most appreciate about Cliff is his excellent and detailed communication - all the way from the estimate, to bringing samples and laying out price options, all the way through installation and even post-installation.

I can tell that he puts a lot of thought and effort into making sure that he does his work with the utmost quality, asking detailed questions, and really feeling like he's on your side throughout the whole process - plus he's an excellent and super nice guy to boot! The work he and his crew did speaks for itself and our whole family (including our dog) love our new deck. We'll definitely have him back as our regular handyman in the near future. Highly recommend.
I recently hired Cliff (Odds & Ends Handyman Service) to fix our basement walls, which previously had old wallpaper. He replaced it with panel sheets, and the transformation is excellent. The work was done professionally, with great attention to detail, and the final result looks clean and modern. He was reliable, efficient, and clearly skilled at what he does. I’m very happy with the outcome and would definitely recommend his services to anyone needing similar work. Great work!
I needed to finish my bathroom renovation (some painting, cabinets and light fixture mounting), and Cliff with his colleague were amazing. Accurate, punctual and honest. The price was also reasonable. We are planning to use Cliff for the other upcoming home projects.
I am pleased as punch with Cliff and Tony from Odds & Ends. They worked quickly, professionally and the cost was reasonable. I would use their service again in a heartbeat.
These guys are great. Cliff, the owner was extremely responsive, accommodating, and very fair with pricing. Tony fixed 4 extremely old, difficult, and intricate doors in our home. These doors were like onions, the more he peeled back the worse it got.. but he stuck with it and fixed them all for us. Also, he was so friendly and easy to talk to. I'm so glad I didn't try to do this on my own and trusted the professionals. Definitely recommend them.
