After a flood gutted their kitchen, a 2025 customer in Chester needed plumbing work spread over five separate sessions, and wrote that Ben Forst got each phase done on exactly the date and time needed, from meeting the carpenters on a Tuesday at 1 to disconnecting the temporary sink at 6 the next night. That 2025 customer later sent their daughter and her husband to Ben when the couple bought a home in Chester. Forst Plumbing & Heating describes itself as offering plumbing and heating installation and service. A 2026 customer said Forst came immediately for a serious drainage issue from the kitchen sinks, replaced part of the piping, and designed the replacement so it is accessible at multiple points. A 2025 customer said Ben responded quickly to a basement leak and diagnosed it, and Jake came out first thing in the morning to replace their well pressure tank. A 2025 customer said Ben arrived promptly, diagnosed and fixed a sink problem, and called his pricing very fair. A 2024 customer said Ben installed a new sump pump quickly after the basement flooded. A 2023 customer said Ben had every part needed in the truck and left the bathroom clean. A recent customer with two small offices says they paid $180 for a small toilet repair, which they found within reason, then were billed another hour at $100 for a check of two toilets about 50 feet away that needed no work. That customer paid a bill of $326.76 and advises getting a firm quote before they do any work. It holds an active Connecticut P1 plumbing contractor licence, PLM.0290731-P1, under Benjamin J Forst.
Just suggesting that you get a firm quote before they do any work. We have two small offices and had 1 toilet that needed small repair. I was Charged $180 ( first hour plus parts) . This price was within reason. But I asked them to just check the other two toilets in our other office ( about 50 feet away !! ) and they charged me another 1 hour ( $100!! ) to walk 50 feet and look at two toilets that needed NO work. When I questioned this I was told that " We charge $180 for the first hour and $100 for every hour after that. Jakobs ticket had two hours and that lines up with when he called" I value small business ownership and will go out of my way to use any small biz & refer small business every time but unfortunately not Forst Plumbing & Heating LLC. I paid the bill that totaled $326.76 & deleted their number from my phone.
Forst came immediately to address a serious drainage issue from the kitchen sinks. They had to replace part of the piping--and did it quickly and cleanly. Better yet, they designed the replacement so it will be easy to address any future issues. It is now accessible at multiple points. The old pipe was largely inaccessible. So kudos to Forst. Excellent work and done promptly. Work every penny.
About a year ago, I caused a flood in my Chester home. Yes, really. The damage was intense. The kitchen had to be gutted, cabinets and countertops removed. The kitchen flooring had to be ripped up and replaced and the entire first floor contents put in storage in order to sand and refinish the first floor. Having caused all this damage myself and facing 6 months of partial kitchen use, I was not in a great place. The plumbing necessary wasn't that complicated, but the project had so many overlapping tasks, that scheduling it looked like it was going to be a nightmare. Basically we needed a quote on work that was going to require 5 different work sessions for the plumber. How many plumbers are up for that kind of schedule disruption? I know of one - Chester's own Ben Forst. Ben cheerfully, neatly and professionally got each phase done on exactly the date and time needed. If we needed him on a Tuesday at 1 to meet the carpenters, he was there. If we needed him at 6 the next night do disconnect the temporary sink, he was there - and always ready with a smile and a good word. The whole plumbing part of the project ran like clockwork, and Ben was wonderful. His calm professionalism was the perfect remedy for our post-flood craziness! A few months after our kitchen was done, we were thrilled to learn that our daughter and her husband were buying a home in Chester. We hooked them up with Ben, who did a great job for them, too. Chester is blessed with talented in all the trades. Forst Plumbing is the best of the best. Thank-you, Ben!
Can’t thank Ben and the team enough! Called about a leak in the basement and Ben was quick to respond and diagnose. Jake came out first thing in the morning to replace our well pressure tank and resolve the issue- very grateful and definitely recommend!
Ben is very good to work with. He responded quickly to my inquiry, was able to schedule an appointment in a few days (this was not an emergency). Arrived promptly, diagnosed and fixed the problem. My sink works better than it ever has! His pricing is very fair as well.
