A 2023 customer described booking by email, getting a confirmation call the day before and another call 30 minutes before the crew pulled up; another 2023 reviewer noted them on time for each appointment and explaining the process as they went; a 2022 reviewer called Jeff and his staff punctual and efficient. Four Seasons is a Stoughton chimney and masonry outfit that calls itself family-owned, founded in 1998 by Gary Shedin and now owned and run by Todd Ramsay, who bought the business and says he carries it on in Shedin's memory. The work runs across Eastern Massachusetts: sweeping and inspections, liner installation, chimney rebuilds, damper repair, flue repair for fireplaces, woodstoves, boilers and furnaces, waterproofing, and getting animals out of chimneys. Its site says its technicians hold Chimney Safety Institute of America certification. The routine visits are quick — a February 2024 reviewer had Jeff and Eric in and out in under half an hour for a sweep. The bigger work shows up too: a 2023 reviewer, writing after buying a house, described a stainless steel liner and a custom-sized chimney cap, then annual sweeps after that. Google sits at 4.9 stars across 11 ratings, the Better Business Bureau grades the company A+, and a poster on r/SouthShore said in July 2026 that Four Seasons did theirs and they would recommend them. One thing to settle before any structural work: the state registry shows the company's Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #120784, as expired. For an annual sweep or an inspection that may not weigh on you; for a rebuild, a liner or repairs to the chimney itself, ask where the registration stands and get a certificate of insurance along with the written scope.
