One October 2024 review tells you most of what is known about JJL Masonry. A homeowner who had collected several quotes on a chimney problem wrote that other contractors said the whole chimney had to be rebuilt, while JJL identified the real problem — a base that was not built wide enough — and shored it up, replacing cracked brick and mortar. The other detailed account, from December 2024, is about brick front steps that were falling apart. JJL gave them a makeover in stone and finished in a few days, working through the rain. One thing to raise before you call: the Massachusetts construction supervisor licence on record for John M Lehane, CS-064594, is expired — the state registry's own word for it is "Null and Void". The Better Business Bureau lists JJL Masonry as a non-accredited sole proprietorship with one employee. For a targeted masonry repair — a chimney someone else quoted as a full rebuild, or front steps to be redone in stone — those are the two jobs customers have described, and both went well for them. Ask about licensing and insurance for your own job before anyone starts, and get the scope and price in writing.
JJL Masonry was fantastic. Our brick front steps were falling apart and were in desperate need of repair. JJL Masonry came in and gave it a complete makeover with beautiful stone steps, getting it done in just a few days, even working through the rain. We couldn’t be happier with the result and having the peace of mind that the steps will hold up for many years to come.
We had several quotes and evaluations of our chimney issue. Others said we had to rebuild the entire chimney but JJL identified the real problem which was shoring up the base that was not built wide enough, replacing cracked bricks and mortar. They did a fantastic and thorough job at a reasonable price. We are very pleased and recommend them highly.
