Fred's Tree Removal LLC

Fred's Tree Removal LLC is a Branford tree service that says it has worked for homeowners and businesses there for over 27 years. Its stated service area runs through East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, North Branford, North Haven, Wallingford and New Haven. A recent customer said Ed came out to give an estimate, then texted later that day: "I've got a bad feeling about that tree." During removal the tree started to give way, and that customer said Ed's team dropped it between the house and a firepit with no damage. A recent customer whose driveway was blocked by a fallen tree said they arrived within two hours, cleared a path, and returned later that week to complete the cleanup. The older jobs run to big trees in tight spots. A 2024 customer said a roughly 90-foot oak came down with a fence within 2 feet on two sides, and the fence was not touched. A 2024 reviewer described a tree over 50 feet high beside their Colonial home, with branches over the roof; that customer said the job, the cleanup and hauling away all the wood were done in one day, with Ed, the owner, on site all day. A 2025 customer described a leaning tree next to a power line dropped without bothering the garden below. A 2025 reviewer said Ed came out in windy weather to remove limbs from a dead tree by the house before returning to take the whole tree down, and kept them told about weather delays. On Google it carries 4.8 stars from 22 ratings, and its Better Business Bureau grade is A+. A 2025 one-star reviewer wrote that the business shouldn't be pruning trees according to state statute and regulations.
