Freedom Air Mechanical says on its website that it was founded in 2020 and operates out of Sanford, ME. Craig O'Donnell holds Maine HVAC license PNT6995, which is active on the state registry. A recent customer says a furnace had not come back on after warm days for several years until Craig diagnosed the problem and got the part, and that there has been no problem since. That customer also says Craig has gone dark and does not respond to calls for service. A 2024 customer said Craig responded promptly to a quote request and sent an estimate within days. A 2023 customer said Craig and Mike installed a new gas boiler in their condo and that Craig picked up a conversion kit. A 2023 customer described a mini split installation in which Craig explained the whole process during his inspection, said Craig and his guys were neat and showed up on time, and said he came back to make sure everything was functioning. A 2023 customer said that when their heat and hot water went, he was out immediately, and that on a Saturday they came out and got the job done. A 2022 customer said they left pipes exposed without insulation, did not insulate holes they drilled in an outside wall, and drained a heat pump onto a tool rack. In a 2021 Angi review, a customer described a $30,000 heat pump install that was rushed at the end, with pipe left exposed and uninsulated and one unit drained into the basement on top of a storage bin, and said Craig treated it as acceptable work when they complained. On Google the company shows 4.6 stars from 8 ratings, and on Angi 4.3 stars from 5 ratings.
I've had a problem for several years with my furnace not coming back on after a warm day. I couldn't get my furnace person to solve the problem. Craig diagnosed the problem, got the part and I have had no problem since. Craig also serviced my gas "on demand" hot water unit. Craig has gone dark and does not respond to my calls for service.
We recently requested a quote from Freedom Air. Craig promptly responded to our inquiry and thoroughly review all aspects of the installation. We received his estimate within days and he immediately replied to any questions we had. Craig was prompt, courteous and professional and would recommend considering Freedom Air.
I am very happy with Craig and Mike's work in installing a new gas boiler in my condo. Craig went out of his way to pick up a conversion kit. Christine at the office was equally great to work with. I recommend 100 percent. Thanks again for great service!! Maureen A.
It’s hard to trust any contractor these days. They’re quick to take your money and leave a mess behind. During the early part of spring, I began looking for a local company to install mini splits in my home. I called a few, they either didn’t show or didn’t call back. I gave up trying to find anyone. Once summer hit and the house was hot, I decided to pursue the idea again. Someone told me about Houzz and Angi’s list. I’d never used them but figured why not…. I saw the listing for Freedom Mechanical and was intrigued by the reviews I saw so I called. I spoke with Christine who helped orchestrate a meeting with the owner at our home. Immediately I felt we were going to have a good experience. Craig was kind and thoughtful during his inspection of the home and explained the entire process of installation post-construction. After the meeting we decided to go ahead with the installation. It’s the best thing we ever did. Craig and his guys were professional, neat and showed up on time. He’s been back to make sure everything is functioning properly and as I stated above, we couldn’t be happier. We chose the Daikon model for their sleek design. Support a local business and our veterans, it’s a win-win.
Always attentive when we have any questions controlling our new boiler. Recently converted from oil to propane.
