Freedom Pest Control works out of Peabody, and the specifics that keep turning up in reviews go past the usual ant-and-mouse call: squirrels in a third-floor apartment wall, hornets nests tucked under a deck panel, a foundation treatment that came with shrub-trimming advice. The Better Business Bureau lists them as accredited since February 2009 with an A grade on file. The volume behind that is real — 531 reviews since 2021 across six sources, with 53 in the last six months and only one negative in that stretch. What repeats across years of reviews is less a company voice than a roster of named technicians people ask for by name — Shane, Scott, Justin, Todd, Jonathan, Lenny among them. One review describes Shane arriving as scheduled with clear communication about the service and what to expect; another, from 2025, has Scott calling ahead to say he was running early, then working through a list of bait-trap locations before tackling a hornets nest outside without staining the siding. Bat removal is where the record gets uneven: two separate 2025 reviews describe the one-way-window exclusion method not fully working, with bats still active in the attic months after a process pitched as guaranteed. Billing complaints follow a similar shape — a mid-2026 review describes being charged the full service amount when a broken sprayer limited the visit to partial treatment, and a 2024 review reports more rodents and carpenter bees a year and $1,300 into a subscription plan. For routine calls — mice, ants, wasps, seasonal tick and mosquito treatments — the reviews are consistent and name which technician handled what. For anything bat-related or subscription-based, it's worth pinning down what the warranty actually covers and what happens if a visit doesn't fully resolve the problem.
They came for the service. Were able to do only part of it because the spraying machine was broken. I was charged full service amount. I called to confirm. They were not even aware that i did not receive full service. I was on hold for 20 minutes. Not a good service.
Jonathan did a great job and thoroughly explained everything and included recommendations for further services.
