Freitas Chimney Services of Hudson and Marlborough

Freitas Chimney Services is a chimney business in Hudson, MA. Its website describes it as family-owned and operated, overseen by Roberto Freitas, and specializing in chimney services and repair, including masonry fireplaces, chimney liners and chimney roof flashing. It offers free estimates. Roberto installed a new brick chimney for one customer and left the workspace clean. Another customer had two challenging stainless steel chimney liner installations done. Roberto and his team cleaned one customer's chimney, installed a new liner and completed masonry work in 3 places, all in one day, and Roberto and his crew did chimney cap repair, power washing and waterproofing as quoted for another. On one job, Roberto sent photos via text so the customer could see the progress. One customer takes back an earlier positive review: they were very satisfied with his work on a deteriorating chimney in the basement, but say Roberto never came back in the spring to finish the outside work he said he would do, and never called as he said he would. In 2025, Roberto did a free inspection and estimate for one customer, explained how to use the existing cap instead of buying a new one, and then, with his fellow worker, rebuilt the chimney and installed a stainless-steel liner. Another 2025 customer, told by a different company that the chimney had to come down to the roof line, called Freitas for a second opinion; he felt it only needed new flashing and some brick re-pointing. Also in 2025, Roberto tore down a crumbly old chimney and built a new one, extending the flue higher. In 2024, Roberto came out within 2 days to a chimney leaking during storms, went up on the roof, took photos and videos of the damage, and quoted a rebuild from the roof line up plus waterproofing; after the job they power washed the roof, cleaned the gutters and swept up debris. Another 2024 customer had a 40 yr old chimney replaced over 5 days on the roof, with the new roof solar panels kept protected.
