Every review says the same name. Tony — Anton Baliuk, who runs Frontier Air out of 390 Upham Street in Melrose with a crew of five — is the person customers describe showing up, quoting the job and doing the work. The business is cooling and heating equipment: ductless mini-splits, central air, furnaces, thermostats, and replacing systems that have given up. It says it has been at it 12 years, that it is a Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor offering a 12-year manufacturer warranty on Mitsubishi equipment, and that as a Mass Save heat pump installer it will handle the loan and rebate paperwork for you. Discounts are offered to veterans and senior citizens. The written record is short, uniformly positive, and a few years old. On Thumbtack the company holds 5.0 across 26 ratings and was named a Top Pro in 2022. In a June 2021 review a homeowner described a central air system installed from scratch in a three-storey house, done faster and cheaper than expected. A December 2021 customer had mini-splits fitted in a very old home. In May 2022 one reviewer had a split system installed and the electrical cabling adjusted to suit it; another, replacing a gas furnace and AC, wrote that the crew double and triple checked the work and cleaned up so thoroughly it was as if they had never been there. What is worth knowing is that nothing describes the company's work since 2022. Its Angi page carries no reviews at all, and the two profiles disagree about basic facts — 12 years in business on one, 16 on the other; cash and check on one, credit card on the other; a 12-year Mitsubishi warranty advertised on one while the other answers plainly that no warranties are offered. A reasonable call for a mini-split or central air installation on the north side of Boston, particularly if you want Mass Save rebate help. Ask which payment methods actually apply, get the Mitsubishi warranty terms in writing, and ask for the Massachusetts licence numbers of whoever will do the refrigeration and sheet metal work, since neither profile publishes one.

I needed a new furnace and AC installed. I was very happy with the level of professionalism, and the punctuality of the crew. They had respect for my home, double and triple checked their work, and cleaned up the work area so it was like they were never there. I would hire Frontier Air agin in a heartbeat. Tony and his guys were awesome - super professional and quick. We had a central air installation from scratch and they were able to get the job done unbelievably fast at a great price. We're going to work together on a larger job in the attic in the near future. Definitely two thumbs up!
