FV Construction is a two-person Lowell outfit run by Fabricio Dos Santos, and the range on its Thumbtack page is wide for a crew that size: handyman calls at one end, flooring, tile, decks and finish carpentry in the middle, basement finishing and bath and kitchen remodels at the other. It works both residential and commercial jobs and says it has been at it nine years. The star record is clean — 5.0 across 13 ratings, every one of them five stars — and 157 project photos back it up. But the depth behind that number is thin. Only five of those 13 ratings have a readable comment attached, they run from 2023 to mid-2025, and nothing new has landed in nearly a year. Everything known about this company lives on one platform. One of those five comments is worth flagging: it praises a differently-named business, "vcarpentry", rather than FV Construction, so it should not be counted as a customer account of this company at all. Two of the five also lack the platform's "Hired on Thumbtack" verification. That leaves a genuinely small set of confirmed jobs behind a perfect average. The page lists no licence or registration number anywhere, and the advertised work runs well past the trades Massachusetts exempts — basement finishing, bathroom and kitchen remodels are exactly the jobs where home improvement contractor registration and a construction supervisor licence matter. Ask for both, in writing, before scoping anything structural. For flooring, a deck repair or a punch list of household fixes from a small owner-run crew, this is a reasonable call. For a basement build-out or a full room remodel, treat the five-star average as encouraging rather than proven, and verify the credentials and a couple of recent references yourself.

Fabricio was excellent. My floors came out great. Fabricio and crew was on time and got the job done. Quality work for a fair price. I will hire again for sure. FV Construction fixed and updated my back deck. They corrected the poor quality work of the original builder in 1997. They are hard workers and did a great job on my deck. (NOT marked "Hired on Thumbtack")

I strongly recommend vcarpentry. I'm very happy with vgcarpentry , they are very friendly, professional , job was done on time expected. If you are looking to built a professionally done deck in your house I recommend you call these guys. (NOT marked "Hired on Thumbtack"; verbatim — this review names and recommends "vcarpentry"/"vgcarpentry", not FV Construction)

What does handyman work cost in Greater Boston?
Typical Greater Boston range for this kind of work, from regional averages — not a quote from FV Construction. Use it to sanity-check bids, then get the real number in writing.
A day rate replaces the task list — usually the better deal once the list gets long.
Estimated range
$220 – $850
Typical handyman visit around $540
