GA Building & Remodeling is a Marlborough, Massachusetts general contractor that homeowners across Metro West hire for whole-room work — bathrooms, kitchens and finished basements — plus additions, roofing and porch and deck rebuilds. Almost everyone who writes about the company names the same person: Levy Ramirez, who comes out to estimate the job and then runs it. The jobs people describe are specific. A condo owner in 2024 walked through a master bathroom taken from demo to tile to fixtures. In 2022 a homeowner with a flooded basement said Levy knew how to move the insurance claim forward and hit a tight pre-holiday schedule, and another that year had an outdated, rotted porch demolished and rebuilt from foundation to roof with a wheelchair ramp added after the fact. A 2023 reviewer needed third-story deck posts replaced and credited the crew with sourcing the right materials and bringing the right people. Basements come up again and again — full baths, a home gym with rubber flooring and mirrors, wet bars. Platform averages sit high: 4.8 from 99 Google ratings, 4.8 from 49 on Thumbtack, and 5.0 from 242 aggregated reviews on Porch, against 4.2 from just five ratings on Houzz. The complaints are worth reading closely, because they are detailed and they point at the same thing. A homeowner writing in July 2025 said a bath remodel promised in four to five months ran past ten, with tile, electrical and plumbing redone more than once and debris — including razor blades — left near children's toys. In May 2025, a customer having a sunroom built and a kitchen relocated said the builder's electrician put a neutral wire into a hot slot so the oven stopped heating, and never came back to fix it. An older account from July 2022, posted to both Google and Houzz by the same homeowner, described a single bathroom remodel that ran from March 2021 to April 2022 and said crews cut through pipes and live wires during demo and taped over them, flooding the floor below. In December 2024 a different homeowner said the company quoted a deck over the phone and then declined to come look at it in person before he committed. So: a company a lot of people are genuinely glad they hired for a bath, a kitchen or a basement, and a smaller group whose bigger, multi-trade projects went badly. Before signing, ask for milestone dates in writing, ask who the electrician and plumber on your job will be and whether they are employees or subs, and ask to see permit and inspection sign-offs before anything gets closed up.
