Around a newly installed inground pool, a customer said Gage Dirtworks removed rocky soil, brought in new soil, raked it evenly and applied hydroseed, then left detailed watering instructions. The company describes itself on its website as a sitework, gravel work, excavation, hydroseeding, drainage and land clearing contractor, and says it has been in business 25 years. A customer with an erosion issue in the yard said Eric looked at the yard's overall needs, and the solution he provided included a French drain, a fix for a flooding issue in the backyard, clearing another area and planting grass. A customer whose large lawn project included leveling, new topsoil, grading and hydroseeding said they worked through weather and fence issues and worked well with the customer's irrigation contractor. One customer who asked about hydroseeding a small portion of the yard said Eric came over within 2 hours and was honest that the job would not be worth the cost. A 2025 customer said a 5-foot drop was filled, the yard graded, drainage pipes installed and the lawn hydroseeded. A 2025 customer said Eric cleared an invasive bamboo garden from a backyard, dug the area 36 inches deep and used his truck for disposal. A 2023 customer said Eric worked with their propane company on an underground issue with their tank while they had lost use of their furnace. A 2022 customer said Eric hit a surprise stump while clearing part of the yard and spent 3 hours taking it out with his machine instead of leaving for the day. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0668730, as active, held by Gage Dirtworks LLC.
We worked with Eric from Gage Dirt Works for an escalating project around our newly installed inground pool. Rocky soil needed to be removed and new soil needed to be brought in and then hydro seeding was applied. The crew did a wonderful job making sure the new soil was raked evenly and the hydro seed was applied to perfection. The price was very competitive and the job was done in a timely manner. Lastly, we were provided detailed watering instructions. Thanks Eric!
I highly recommend Gage Dirt Works...They were contracted to address an erosion issue in my yard. I requested quotes from multiple contractors for this work. What set Gage apart is that Eric focused on the overall needs of our yard, not just the erosion. As a result, the solution he provided (French Drain, address a flooding issue in the backyard, clearing out another area, and planting grass) addressed all of the problems. Eric did everything he said he would do on time (earlier, actually) and for a fair price. I highly recommend him.
We have worked with Gage on several projects around our house. Most recently they did a large lawn project including massive amounts of leveling, new topsoil, grading and hydro seeding. They worked hard through weather issues, fence issues, and always communicated very well with me on what to expect. They also worked really well with our irrigation contractor. Having two different companies working so well together really helped seal the deal for me. Thrilled to see this new lawn coming together. Wouldn’t hire anyone else!
We hired Gage Dirt Works to clear overgrown shrubs, take out small trees and clear land for reseeding. Eric and his team did a fabulous job! They came back to our property several times to check on the seeding. Eric and his crew cleaned up the property very nicely. Our yard looks great! The best part about hiring Gage Dirt Works is that the estimate came in timely and the project started quickly after. We highly recommend hiring Eric!
I reached out for a quote for hydro seeding a small portion of our yard. Eric came over within 2 hours to see what he can do to help. He was honest that the job would not be worth the cost to us and spent time going over other options we could do even at no benefit or sale to him! Super knowledgeable, helpful, kind and most importantly HONEST. I know just who I will be calling for any future needs.
