Geo Brothers Fence has been putting up fences on Boston's North Shore since 1996. It is a small operation - a sole proprietorship working out of a Beverly PO box with two employees on the books, run by owner Robert Georgenes, who reviewers know simply as Rob, with Claudia handling the office. The company covers about thirty towns from Lynn and Malden up through Salem, Gloucester and Ipswich, and puts its typical job between $1,500 and $13,000. The volume of feedback is unusual for a shop this size: 83 ratings averaging 5.0 on Angi, 91 averaging 4.9 on HomeAdvisor, and an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau, though that same BBB profile records the business as not accredited. What customers describe most consistently is the finish. In a July 2024 review a homeowner installing a wood fence said the crew worked in a gate she already owned, was careful of her neighbour's property as well as her own, left the area spotless and finished sooner than promised. A December 2017 customer described the crew hand-building six of fifteen panels to hold a straight line up a steep hill, working two full days in near-zero weather with lights after sunset, and cutting up fallen branches that were never part of the contract. A July 2017 reviewer said that apart from the fence itself, you would never know they had been there. They also take repair work others turn down. A July 2018 customer with two rotted stockade posts wrote that most fence companies only wanted new installations, and that Geo Bros squeezed the job in and untangled a badly built original. A July 2024 reviewer had a leaning fence made sturdy again for $650, and an October 2020 customer said another contractor had flatly refused the job before Rob took it on. Estimating and pricing draw steady praise too: a February 2020 customer said the quote was the best of several and that Rob worked to her budget, and a March 2017 customer got a call back and a price while the owner was away on holiday. Two things temper the picture. In August 2017 a four-star reviewer said the job ran longer than expected, and in March 2017 another hit a problem with a gate, which the owner then put right. The written accounts are also dated - the newest is from July 2024 - so ask for a recent local reference and confirm the current crew and lead time when you call for a quote.

I was able to get a quote very quickly on installing a wood fence. They made helpful suggestions to make sure we got what we wanted and were even able to incorporate a gate we already had. Communication was excellent, and they were able to get the job done sooner than proposed to accommodate our schedule and timeline. The work was done in a day, and they were very mindful of our neighbor’s property as well as ours, leaving the work area spotless. We are so happy with the finished product!

Rob and his crew did a great job with replace the stockade fence along side my driveway. He also removed all the shrubs in order to install the fence. My driveway is now larger and I'm able to move snow much easier! Thank you Rob!
Each person I talked to was professional and helpful and knowledgable. This includes Rob, Claudia and the two men who came out to do the work. Time will tell whether their promise of another 10-20 years with this fence holds true, but they have given be every reason to trust them and to enjoy working with them. I will most definitely seek them out if I need other fence work and I would recommend the company to anyone. I think this was a hard job, too. I had another fence company come out prior to Geo Bros and was told, "I won't touch that crap" (the previous owners did a real poor job on the fence a couple years ago), but Rob from Geo Bros didn't shy away from the hard work. It was really refreshing to have so many positive exchanges with each employee I encountered. The men who did the job explained to me what they were doing and didn't mind at all that my 15 month old was fascinated by them working out back!
