In a third 2026 review, they ripped up and installed a new driveway. In a 2025 review, George and his team did a very long and awkwardly shaped driveway, stayed true to the quote despite unexpected encounters that required more time and materials than expected, and installed a gravel pad for a shed project. In another 2025 review, the job was a driveway of about 400 ft that had been dirt and gravel, full of holes and impossible to clear in the winter; Fern gave the quote and pointed out areas that could be improved, and the price was called reasonable. In a 2024 review, after contracting with George for commercial work on facility parking lots and truck roads, the writer had the team do a home driveway, where they fixed drainage and drivability issues that were problems for years. I don't believe the reviews are entirely true from my experience. I called them three times and left messages and they never responded.
They ripped up and installed a new driveway, once again it was an excellent job. We are beyond pleased with the workmanship and professionalism.
I came upon George A. Pickering Asphalt Paving through multiple recommendations from satisfied customers and industry professionals. All I can say is thank you to all of them for recommending GAP! I was impressed with this company from the time I spent with Fern coming out and providing my estimate, to the timeliness with which the crew showed up to do the job. I watched as each member of the crew did their part of the process of excavating, leveling and paving my driveway. I was particularly impressed by the level of care that was carried out. I just had some hardscaping done and was hoping the asphalt could go down without any damage to the new retaining wall. This is a team that knows what they're doing, and carries it all out with professionalism and courtesy shown to the homeowner. I will sing your praises to others who are looking for paving. Throughout the process of getting a completely new driveway this company was A+. Responsive, showed up when they said they would and did an excellent and thorough job putting in our new driveway that is about 200 ft long. George clearly knows what he is talking about and has extensive experience so we trusted him with this big job. He did not disappoint! The crew that came out was well orchestrated and hard working. Better than that, they cared about the details, putting just the right curves here or there to make the driveway fit with the landscape. They also left things very clean. Most importantly, our new hunk of asphalt is STURDY! Lots of base material and two generous layers of asphalt. So glad we went with George and looking forward to basketball and pickleball on our new surface!
