The Medford electrician's Google reviews are full of knob-and-tube removal, panel and service upgrades in century-old homes, and charger installs, and it holds a 4.6-star Google average from 50 ratings. Its Massachusetts electrician licence, #20580-EL-A, is active, with Kenneth J Sparrow as the holder of record. Several 2025 reviews describe the company finding a cheaper route through a tricky job. In a May 2025 review, a homeowner with 100-amp service said Gibbons picked an EV charger with load management so the house didn't need a costlier 200-amp upgrade. A March 2025 reviewer who said they had used the company for close to 20 years described electricians spending all day replacing a rusted-out panel, then re-wiring and labeling the circuits. An October 2025 customer had knob and tube taken out of a two-family home and wrote that the crew explained what to expect, then cleaned and patched the holes. Ken comes up by name in several reviews — finding light fixtures for a customer's back steps, and fixing a mistake in a customer's own request quickly and cost-effectively. The complaints center on quotes and how people were spoken to. In June 2026, two Reddit commenters in r/ArlingtonMA described quotes far higher than expected — one put an EV charger quote at roughly triple, and wrote that Gibbons had been bought by a company named Markarian; the other also described an attitude problem and overheard racist comments about her neighbors. A July 2025 Google reviewer said the person they spoke to about an EV charger quote was abrupt and called them "too forward", and a November 2024 reviewer described a bidder who said he didn't need to explain himself. In a January 2023 review, a long-time customer said a final bill came in at roughly double what they expected and the office was dismissive when asked why. The company's own site says it serves homeowners and businesses in Watertown, Greater Boston and nearby communities, and that the same team now operates with expanded resources. Its BBB grade is A+.

We had Gibbons out on a handful of occasions to diagnose a complicated issue with our circuit breaker. They were able to determine the root of the problem and promptly scheduled an electrician to come out and fix everything in a day. They were prompt, fair and comprehensive and I would recommend them highly.

They explained what to expect, took great care working in my home and cleaned and patched the holes. They were very punctual and the the whole process went way better than expected.
