Gilbert Carey Painting

When painting came up in an Arlington subreddit thread in June 2026, one neighbour's whole answer was "Gilbert Carey for painting"; another replied that they recommend him too. Gilbert Carey Painting works out of Cheswick Road in Arlington and covers Somerville, Boston and the wider Greater Boston area, doing interior and exterior painting, staining, power washing and light carpentry for homes and commercial properties. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #212003, is active, and its BBB page carries an A+. The reviews describe Gilbert himself on the job. A customer having a two-bedroom condo painted wrote in August 2024 that the place hadn't been painted in over a decade, so prep and a tradesman used to tight spaces mattered to them — and that Gilbert listened and made quote adjustments with ease. Another, in April 2024, called the run from estimate to completion seamless and said he stayed accommodating as other things came up along the way. A 2022 review describes a bathroom left looking fresh and clean, with the crew cleaning up after themselves. One client has gone back four times — residential and commercial properties plus kitchen cabinets — and wrote in April 2024 that the guys show up on time. The same review mentions calling him about spots missed on one job, with the writer's own shrug: "it happens no one is perfect." It is worth settling up front how the walk-through and touch-ups are handled. For interior work around Arlington — a condo repaint, cabinets, a bathroom — this is a small crew led by the owner, with neighbours willing to put his name forward. Get the prep, the number of coats and the touch-up visit written into the quote before work starts.
