WT Kenney is an Arlington-based commercial painting company whose reviews come almost entirely from property managers, colleges, and nonprofits rather than individual homeowners. The company says on its site it has operated since 1939, now run by a fourth generation of the same family, and the reviews back up the staying power — in a 2025 review, one client described working with them for "over two decades," and several others describe multi-year relationships across commercial properties in Boston and the suburbs. The recent record is spotless: five reviews since this spring, all five stars, including a full restoration after a commercial building took on water infiltration — the crew removed the damaged walls and ceiling, replaced the drywall, and repainted. Older reviews describe the same pattern at larger scale: in a 2025 review, WT Kenney refurbished a historic spire on the Perkins campus while coordinating logistics and timeline with the management team; another 2025 review describes repainting a lab/office campus in Cambridgeport across several separate projects; and a 2025 review recounts a time-sensitive request from Boston College answered with an immediate field survey, pricing, and crew. In a 2024 review, a rush job came in on a competitive bid and the crew started and finished exactly when they said they would. Pricing comes up unprompted and favorably — several reviewers, independently and across different years, describe the rates as "reasonable" or "competitive." Its BBB profile shows an A+ grade and cites 77 years in business, and Google shows a 5★ average from 28 ratings, both consistent with the written reviews. Worth flagging: this is a business built around commercial and institutional accounts, so a homeowner calling for a single-family repaint won't find much of a residential track record to compare against, even though the trade itself — interior and exterior painting, specialty coatings — is the same one. For a large or logistically tricky paint job — a historic building, a multi-tenant property, restoration after water damage — WT Kenney's record is deep and consistent across years of documented client relationships. For a straightforward home repaint, it's worth confirming up front that they take on jobs that size.
WT Kenney did a large painting job for our commercial building which was a challenge because of site access and the condition of the facade. They did a fantastic job with the painting, essentially transforming the look of the entire building. Their crew was also great to deal with. Our tenant went out of their way to make sure we were aware of how easy WT Kenney's crew were to work with. They were accommodating to our tenant's operations; they cleaned up every day and were a pleasure to be around. I will be using them for all of our projects moving forward! I have worked with WT Kenney across several of our commercial properties and have consistently had an excellent experience. Brian, Amy, and the entire team are responsive, professional, and incredibly diligent in their work. They are proactive in addressing issues, communicate clearly, and always follow through on their commitments. Their level of service and attention to detail make them a trusted partner, and I highly recommend WT Kenney to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable vendor.
Professional, quality work.
WT Kenney provided great service at my commercial building where we had a water infiltration. They completed the full restoration from removing the affected walls and ceiling to replacing the drywall and repainting. Thank you!!
I have had the pleasure of working with W.T. Kenney over the past few years, specifically with Amy Benoit and Eric Pacheco. Needless to say, their service, responsiveness, and dedication to their craft truly set them apart from other contractors in the area. Not only are their prices very competitive, but the quality of service and professionalism they provide consistently exceeds expectations. One aspect I especially appreciate is their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. After each project is completed, they conduct a final walkthrough to ensure everything has been addressed properly and that the work aligns fully with the agreed scope. W.T. Kenney is a truly first-class contractor, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality painting services. - Charles Assenza, C&W, Commercial Property Manager.
