GQ Painting's written history is short and it splits cleanly down the middle. Three homeowners writing between 2013 and 2017 gave it five stars and all named the same person — John. One writing in August 2022 gave it one star and said the paint was chipping off within a week. The Houzz profile puts the company in Hingham, MA, at (781) 413-6032, and lists interior, exterior, ceiling and decorative painting. In a December 2017 review, a customer described John starting within a week of her call, producing an itemised estimate, texting daily with questions and updates, and coming in at half what her contractor had quoted for the same painting. A 2016 reviewer said John's crew had painted both his Scituate home and his Hingham office. The complaint is the thing to raise before booking. The August 2022 reviewer described paint failing after a week and called the crew disrespectful — a specific claim about the work itself, and the newest account on file by four years. Nobody has written since to say whether the finish or the crew changed. Four reviews on one platform over nine years is not much to go on. If you call, ask who will actually be on your job, ask what surface prep and primer the quote includes, and get the warranty on the finish in writing.
