Great Escapes Patio & Stonework is a stone and hardscape business that John Prince and Chris Parker say they established in 2012. On its Houzz profile the company describes itself as a hardscape contractor located in the Seacoast of New Hampshire. It holds 5 stars from 5 ratings on Google and 5.0 stars from 5 ratings on Houzz. In a 2014 Houzz review, a customer said John and Chris did all of the hardscaping on a project: natural granite steps, landings and boulders for retaining walls. When the septic system turned out to be about 6 inches in the wrong spot, that 2014 customer said John and Chris figured out a creative solution. The same 2014 customer said the quote exceeded the budget, more because of the design than the company, and that the work went slightly longer than estimated, at a total of 4 weeks. A 2014 customer said the company improved the front of the house with a new walkway and a set of granite steps, delivered on time and on budget. In a 2020 Houzz review, a customer said Chris came out promptly to estimate repairs to a bluestone front porch and stairs whose mortar had deteriorated badly, then performed the repair promptly at a price that customer called very reasonable. A 2025 Google reviewer said the company built a stone patio in 2022 and came back to help with a deck project.
Quality work by quality people! We had them build a great stone patio in 2022 and then come back to help with a deck project and the results are awesome in both accounts. The owners take great pride in their work. Highly recommend for a quality stone or decking project.
Professional, prompt & quality work! Highly recommend Great Escapes Patio & Stonework!
Great Escapes Patio & Stonework, Inc has kept our church parking lot cleared of snow for the last 3 years and has done a very nice job of it too. We are very pleased with the pricing and the timeliness of his work ethics. Thank you, John for your continued support.
I needed a bluestone front porch and stairs to be repaired since the mortar had deteriorated badly. Chris came out promptly to give me an estimate and then performed the repair work promptly. The quality of work was excellent and the price was very reasonable. I'm thrilled.
Great Escapes Patio & Stonework was referred to me by a landscape designer I hired. John and Chris, the owners of Great Escapes, were easy to work with and very knowledgeable. The quote they gave me definitely exceeded my budget, but they took the time to explain where the costs were. The higher than expected quote was more due to the design, not Great Escapes itself. The work that John and Chris did was outstanding. They did all of the hardscaping which consisted of natural granite steps, landings and boulders for retaining walls. A number of people have commented on the stonework alone. When issues cropped up, like the septic system being literally about 6 inches in the wrong spot, John & Chris figured out a creative solution that did not comprise the design. Their work was timely and only went slightly longer than they estimated (at total of 4 weeks). They cleaned up after themselves and set expectations as to what would happen to my lawn during the process dropping of the materials. Everything was reseeded after the project was completed. I'm very happy with the work that they did and feel I received a great value for my money. I would hire them again and always refer them to others.
