Greenmen Builders

Greenmen Builders is a Needham, MA-based general contractor specializing in custom kitchen, bathroom, and whole-home remodeling, additions, and renovations, serving Needham, Newton, and Brookline. The company says it was founded in 2011 by Eric Byrne, a licensed contractor who completed a tradesman apprenticeship in Cork City, Ireland, worked in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York, and settled in Boston in 2007; it remains owner-operated by Eric today. The track record from 2021 through 2026 is unusually consistent: of 30 stored reviews, virtually every one is five stars, and reviewers name Eric directly for being responsive, detail-oriented, and standing behind his pricing and timelines. The projects described range widely — kitchen remodels and first-floor renovations of Boston-area condos, a 550-square-foot addition in Newton, a bedroom addition with a new walk-in closet and full bathroom, a full bathroom demo and reconstruction, a deck converted into a three-season porch, and the removal of load-bearing walls to open up a kitchen, dining, and living room into one space. Several reviewers say they've hired the company for multiple projects over the years and returned specifically because of that consistency. An older, dated 2021 review — from before the period the rating weighs most heavily — described Eric gutting and renovating a kitchen and adding a bathroom to a South End apartment, showing up the same day he was called and starting work on time once the sale closed. The one blemish on the record is unrelated to any renovation work: a February 2024 review complained about a company truck and trailer blocking a downtown Boston sidewalk. Backed by an active Massachusetts contractor license and an A+ Better Business Bureau rating, the record here is unusually consistent for homeowners considering kitchen, bathroom, addition, or whole-home remodeling work in the Needham, Newton, or Brookline area.
