Groundworks is the outfit homeowners around Plainville call when a basement won't stay dry or a slab is sinking — sump pumps, French drains, crawl space encapsulation, and foundation leveling make up the bulk of the work its customers describe. A small, recurring cast of named technicians — Archie, Robbie Fidler, Zaven, the crew pairs of Guiles Hall and Jason Lewis, Mikah and Mickey — turn up again and again in reviews, often requested by name the following year. That repeat-technician pattern sits on top of a genuinely large record: roughly 2,000 Google ratings average 4.7 stars, and the company carries an A+ grade with the Better Business Bureau. In the past several weeks alone, reviewers describe a leveled pool deck and driveway apron, a stabilized foundation that stopped squeaking floors and sticking doors, and a run of annual sump-pump and French-drain checkups where the technician walked through every step before leaving. One homeowner whose foundation cracked in this winter's freeze-thaw credits the inspection and installation crew with a full fix; another calls out a two-day crawl space encapsulation that left the basement cleaner than the crew found it, despite jackhammering concrete indoors. The same recent stretch also has a handful of sharper complaints worth asking about directly. More than one reviewer describes a no-show on repair day after several rescheduled quotes, and a canceled project where the deposit took weeks to come back. One reviewer says a drainage basin was installed in the wrong spot and made a flooding problem worse, with slow follow-up afterward; another traces a foundation-seam leak back three years through repeated visits that never fully stopped the water. These are a small share of the recent volume — most of it reads like the maintenance-visit praise above — but specific enough to ask a sales rep how a callback or a refund gets handled before signing anything. For routine waterproofing maintenance and foundation-leveling work, the depth and consistency of that praise make Groundworks a reasonable default pick in the area. For a larger, multi-day project, it's worth pinning down a single point of contact and a written completion timeline up front — the complaints on file cluster around communication and follow-through gaps, not the quality of the finished work itself.

Zac was amazing about explaining the entire process and costs of our basement waterproofing and crawl space sealing. Mickey Snip, Joey Hanley and Burphy Sorbs did an excellent job with the actual job of waterproofing and sealing of our basement and crawl spaces. I highly recommend this team.

I have a concrete slab for a foundation, sinking horribly. These guys came out and did a excellent job of leveling it all out. Friendly, professional, and quite knowledgeable. Very fair pricing. Definitely give these guys a shot. Highly recommend.

All the workers were very efficient came for 12 done by 4 with clean up as well! Very polite and professional. House is on a slab and the front of the house foundation was failing so they came to our rescue! 🤣

I wanted to leave the review that I previously gave to a company that is now just delaying an issue that needs to be corrected ASAP. I have now been getting the run around for 2 weeks!!! I am fuming! See attached video of the water I am getting in my basement! I paid this company to correct the issue instead they installed a basin right in the area of the water creating more water! You would think I and this issue would be treated with urgency but obviously after receiving their review and money as a customer I am put on the backburner. This is awful service and I truly hope they resolve this swiftly and amicably!! As of now nothing is top notch of their service as I previously mentioned. See below.<br><br>"I had the greatest experience with a young group of worked that just amazed me so much I have to mention their names!! Mikah Ramos, Mickey Snip and Joey Hanley thank you for doing awesome work on my property!! If I were a millionaire I would have given $100,000 tips!! Continue being great and delivering top notch service"

No show no call on day of repair. After 4 different cancelations or late arrival for the quote. Horrible, of course now they have a deposit and no communication. Apparently they replied, which I cant find and said theyd reach out, so set up another appointment and no show no call again!!!
